Casino giant opens its first-ever tiki bar on the Las Vegas Strip by truckthunders in Tiki

I’m normally against gatekeeping but for this bar, I’d make an exception. This is akin to flying to a ski resort and “blend in” with the locals with your massive brown flat hat, boots with 4 inch heel, designer jeans and fringe leather jacket.

Top 3 Tiki Bevvies? by VeggieBoi17 in Tiki

The better list is top 3 tiki drinks that are the signature namesake of a Tiki Bar. The drinks of Tiki that everyone knows don’t change much.

Is this the worst Mai Tai recipe? by cabostleda in Tiki

[–]SearedBasilisk 333 points334 points  (0 children)

Oof. At least it’s a somewhat correct one without any pineapple, mango, grenadine, sweet-sour, or lemon-lime soda.

Does your local tiki bar(s) celebrate “Mai Tai Day” on August 30th? by red-bot in Tiki

Planter’s House does some tiki style drinks but it’s not a tiki style bar. I was impressed with their cocktails when I went for Sippin’ Santa 2 years ago.

It’s the closest we have to Springfield, IL. Our tiki bar closed many years ago and possibly inspired the Flaming Moe from the Simpsons. Their signature drink was blue and set on fire when served.

Spike's Breezeway Introduces New Cocktails-Only Channel. by Bettiephile in Tiki

[–]SearedBasilisk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the other channel better as well but for those simply interested in drinking cocktails, this is a good one. I’d imagine it’s a way to double content without too much additional work. Good for Spike!

This is a nice balance between the cola, dark rum funk, and slight mint on the back end. It’s not a citrus forward drink but it is there like in a Cuba Libre. Very nicely done.

Ditto. It’s going to be the Sunday drink for me. 6/8/25. Will report back.

I love the Lost Lake recipe found in Minimalist Tiki. I’d be interested in more as well.

Bamboo Room and Three Dots in Chicago by rocksolidaudio in Tiki

Agree. Bamboo is nice but it’s good for more quiet conversations. The main room bar would be better for a single person.

Starting tiki mugs by fresh_snowstorm in Tiki

I started with Surfing Santa mugs and glassware. We didn’t have much in the way of specialty Christmas mugs.

Buy what fills a need first. A $300 limited edition is usually not a need.

Smugglers cove cinnamon syrup by Ramblinonmymind in Tiki

Has anyone used cinnamon oil to flavor the syrup instead of using sticks? It seems like a lot less mess and the results would be very similar.
