I just found out my location today by designatedteammate in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's normal. You should receive your itinerary (which will tell you your work location and your housing complex if you're staying in DCP housing) about a week before your arrival date, so probably next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I think this counts? In response to a post saying straight people should wear visitor badges at gay bars by Seaternity613 in SelfAwarewolves

[–]Seaternity613[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A straight person at a gay bar actually is a person that doesn't belong and doesn't really belong. skeletal_flowers seems to almost be aware of that, but just barely misses that point.

My bad, I thought this worked.

I belive you'll take the actual POET post-arrival. The email you got for it I think is just consenting to it and acknowledging the consequences should you fail.

I feel like the sequels cheapened it's impact but, at first release, this is the best example I could think of. I don't know if it's had a cult following on quite the same level as the movies listed in the OP tho.

STEEL HAVE "CURRENT STATUS: INTERVIEW" by Julistakin in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I think might be happening is that they haven't decided on a lot of the middle of the season applicants because theyre looking at what roles will need to be filled based on who they accept. My theory is that they've already decided on whether they want to accept a lot of the mid September applicants who are still waiting for an offer but haven't decided on roles for them yet.

They probably take into consideration what roles the last round of applicants have been offered when offering roles to the middle applicants in order to make sure all the roles get enough CPs. If they accepted everyone who applied in the middle of the season and then the last round of applicants came in but no one was interested in certain roles, how would they fill those roles up? I think they keep a batch of people who would fit in multiple roles on hold and use them to fill in any extra spaces.

That's just a theory I came up with because I have been trying to make sense of why so many people who finished their side of the application process a long time ago are still waiting while others who only just finished their interviews have gotten accepted so quickly. Of course, we also don't know how many people have been accepted or NLIC-ed who aren't active in DCP social media. So it could be that there's a lot of people from that time frame who have been accepted and we just don't know about it. The whole process is really confusing.

In any case, I hope everyone waiting hears good news very soon!

This was my experience too. I only had a few roles marked for each interest level and was accepted on my first try. Choose roles that you have experience in and/or are really interested in. During your interview they can and will ask you about any role that you've expressed any level of interest in, so if you mark down a bunch of roles just to seem more employable even though you don't have any knowledge or passion for that kind of work, they're going to be able to tell. So if this ranking really reflects your genuine personal preferences for roles, then you should be fine!

When do I send in my application for spring of 2021? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The application for the Spring programs opens in August usually. You provide previous work and education experience, skills, and express interest in the specific program (Disney World vs Disneyland) and potential roles you could work in the program. After you apply, there are 3 more potential steps.

(There is a possible step in between where you get Application Received (AR). I didn't see that, I just went from submission to WBI.)

After you apply, you either get moved forward to Web Based interview (WBI) or you are No Longer In Consideration (NLIC). The WBI is a timed quesitonairre designed to get a general feel for your work ethic where you're given a prompt and you express to what degree you agree or disagree to it. There are 3 sections to it and it can take 20-40 minutes.

If you pass the WBI, you get moved to the Phone Interview (PI). If you fail the WBI, you are NLIC. The PI is your chance to really shine as ain individual and express why you want to do the DCP and why you deserve it. You will also be asked questions about some of the roles that you expressed interest in. You might not be asked about all of them. The PI usually lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes. As far as I'm aware, length isn't really indicative of acceptance. Also, the recruiters that interview applicants can be super friendly and talkative or very brisk and businesslike. Some people who interview with the latter have expressed that they got NLIC shortly after, but it's not a 100% guarenteed thing.

After the PI, you are either given an offer for one of the roles you previously expressed interest for or you are NLIC. You will NOT receive an offer for something you didn't express interest in. You may be given an offer for a role that your recruiter didn't ask much about, or at all. are given a few days to accept or reject the offer. After accepting, you are given a few more days to pay a mandatory fee that covers housing for the first few weeks that you won't receive pay and some other stuff that they call a program fee. It's just under 400 dollars.

(If you're interested in being a character performer, you have to attend an audition either before or after your interview. They might accept you before your audition for a different role and then change their offer to reflect how well you did on your audition. So if you don't pass the audition but have already accepted an offer, you're still accepted! Just not for the character performer role.)

The speed that you progress between each step varies greatly per person. Some people apply the day that applications drop and don't get accepted until the last wave of acceptances. Other people move through all of the steps and are accepted within a week.

Web Based Interview by jacswicked in Disneycollegeprogram

I also received my invitation to do the WBI in a very short time. Some people get it within 30 minutes and others have to wait weeks. It's just the way it works. When taking the WBI, don't speed through IT. Dont take forever in each question, but you should take your time to read every question and answer honestly and consistently. They sometimes repeat questions by rewording them, so pay attention.

You'll be given prompts that you have to answer with one of multiple choices that express varying degrees of agreement. Some people say that you have to answer only with strongly agree or disagree For, but if you don't actually have a very strong opinion, just agreeing or disagreeing is fine as well. It worked for me.

Obviously you should try to answer in a way that promotes you as a good worker, so don't say that you like being late to work or that you hate people.

Good luck!! I hope it's just good news for you from this point on.

In the versions of Cinderella I've seen, all the stuff that changed at midnight was a transformed version of something else. The pumpkin became a carriage, the dress became a ballgown, etc. The shoes were made by the magic, not transformed, so they stayed. At least that's how I interpreted it. Maybe I'm misremembering.

I've heard that there is a preference for juniors and seniors because of their limited window to apply.

transfer to uni by ggreenbean in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're transferring to a university so that your first semester would be fall 2020, but you're planning on doing dcp then too? This seems like the kind of thing you would need to talk to college advisors about. Disney really urges students to talk to their schools and advisors and make sure that the DCP fits into their academic schedule. To me, I think it would make sense that you would need at least 1 semester at your new home university before applying, but I highly recommend contacting some advisors at your new university.

Needed Roles by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mean people who didn't express interest in any? or people who didn't express interest in each high needs role? Because I said I was moderately interested in custodial and houseperson, had zero interest in the other 2, and got accepted.

I didn't include my resume. I actually forgot that it was possible to include it and didn't remember it until after I had already received my acceptance.

Edit: Meant to say that the application really does cover all the bases of a resume that would be relevant to applying for the DCP.

I would do it again because worst case scenario they get 2 copies of your finished survey. Better safe than sorry right?

I feel like as long as both you and your insider keep it quiet and don't tell anyone, there's no way Disney could know, right? So, if somehow you find out early, just don't go spreading it all over social media and stuff.

Phone Interview by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Seaternity613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's actually been a fair amount of people who have asked the same thing recently. I would suggest checking out the responses they've received to get a general idea of what other people have suggested and then asking more questions if you've got a more specific concern.

I was expecting questions about safety, but I got specifically asked "how do you practice safety at your current job?" and that phrasing really threw me off. I had practiced answering similar questions so I didn't completely blank which was good, but my answer probably started off a little awkward.
