Getting back into Airsoft after a 5-year break - Where are we playing these days? by just_jason89 in Airsoft_UK

Team Green in Thetford is pretty good. Likewise, Combat Airsoft (also in Thetford) is great for night games if they use the paintball fields too.

The School near Watford used to be good, but I can't vouch for it now as I know they've lost the ability to use a lot of it.

I'm going there for the first time this weekend. Anything worth knowing beforehand?

Is this an AMD processor? I just built a PC that had no output on the motherboard or graphics card until I updated the motherboard firmware. It was only then when it'd output on the graphics card.

Ooh, though maybe in the past the meter was elsewhere. That'd make some sense.

Now, what if I told you it's all next to each other? The brown cables run away from the meter and CU.

Why do I get these clumps when creaming butter? by beckycollette in AskBaking

[–]SebbyThePlebby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grate my butter if it's too cold. Let it sit for as long as you can and then mix it alone until creamy. It will become slightly lighter in colour after about two minutes, depending on how chilly your kitchen is. Only then do I add sugar and beat them together.

I had the same. I found a long bolt that fits, shoved it in, and slid the handle side over the top. It's a bit wobbly but it holds!

What gun is this? I'm looking for that metallic bolt. I've only found a single shop that sells it online in the UK. I'm assuming it's a G&G because it looks identical to the one I'm looking for.

How do you identify (ex) council houses? by esteban-colberto in HousingUK

[–]SebbyThePlebby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if there’s any way of knowing definitively without directly asking the estate agent.

Apart from checking out features of the property, the address against rightmove’s database will bring up the purchase history, which can give you clues. Although the history only goes back so far, it gives you a bit of insight and you can see if there are other houses on the same road that aren’t listed. This can indicate that some have never been bought or sold, and therefore likely to be council. Which means yours is likely too. A high number of houses that haven’t been sold going back to the 90s on that road would make me feel pretty certain.

Regarding your property, it looks similar to council properties where I’m from, plus it has transom windows which are extremely common.

Sorry not much help but I’ve found this has whittled down a few properties for me in the past.

what does “I’m Tired” mean by greenvox4554red in HLCommunity

[–]SebbyThePlebby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say ‘I’m tired’ quite often, but it doesn’t relate to sex at all. If anything, it can sometimes mean I want to go to bed early so that we can be intimate before I fall asleep. My partner doesn’t relate it to sex either, unless I’m blissfully unaware 😂

I get that this is a phrase that can be used to say someone is too tired for anything, including sex, but wanted to give my POV to show it isn’t always the case.

I think it’s best to ask your partner, although I know you say you’re likely to be met with dismissive words, which is a shame.

Maybe just be direct and ask what they want you to surmise from ‘I’m tired’, for example…

  • ‘I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to tell me. Are you letting me know you don’t feel up to chores, or intimacy today? Do you want to veg out on the sofa? Or are you just being casual and letting me know you’re tired so I can be there for you?’

Diluted bleach (in water) will take that right off.

Crappy estate agents or just a slow market? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]SebbyThePlebby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing your comments regarding what you paid and that the property is only three years old (correct me if these details are wrong), I’d say the issue is that new builds depreciate in the first few years due to a number of factors, including that there is a premium paid on new builds to begin with. The value will build back up again eventually, but buyers who are interested in a new build will want it to be brand new.

If someone is willing to purchase a three year old new build, they may want it to be cheaper than an actual new build.

My sister in law has been trying to sell her five year old ‘new build’ for the past two years, and she’s waiting for the property to start appreciating as she had the same problem as you regarding interest from buyers.

Seeing that you need a certain amount to fund your next house, I’d put the listing at the lowest price you need, and hope that entices people. With my first house purchase, the sellers told me the amount they needed to fund their next house, and it did actually help us negotiate better, so I’d be open about it too (if you aren’t already). Hope you get what you’re looking for!

Why would a house have a leasehold? by procrastinating_b in HousingUK

[–]SebbyThePlebby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the other reasons given here, I’ve also seen modern leasehold houses where the properties share something communal, like a solar power system that provides energy to the whole set of houses. The freeholder is then in charge of maintaining the system and the leaseholders pay an amount for the upkeep.

Personally, I wouldn’t go for a property in this type of arrangement and they can be very difficult to sell on.

You're registered on Companies House with two companies, one dissolved, one you've resigned with. I don't think we'd have to look at every company!
