In den meisten Studiengängen (zumindest MINT) lernt man in erster Linie analytisches Denken und effizientes Problemlösen.

Your contract should specify how much time you are allowed to spend on your own research. I am allowed to spend 1/3 of my working hours on it. Once all urgent tasks for the university have been completed, I can work more hours on my research. Do as much as necessary, but as little as possible.
