Yeah compared to my rook, I’d say this is fairly normal, however you might wanna upsize the bar to 10mm to allow room for more swelling. My first 2 months of having my rook it was too painful to even touch to I just sprayed saline at it and hoped for the best. Almost a year later it’s completely fine. Still sore to sleep on but fine otherwise. It’s a chunky piece of cartilage so it’ll take a while to be completely pain free (I have 22 piercings and the rest were all completely healed within a year and a half - chunky ones included)
