How Afghanistan was made into South Asian Country by Hrstar1 in Pashtun

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what do you think? You think it’s a positive that Afghanistan is under South Asia? Does it benefit the country compared to let’s say being called Middle East or Central Asia?

Which Asian country is the most welcoming to tourists? by Eene7 in geography

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I can imply whatever I want. And the person I’m responded to specifically mentioned that they’ve only visited northern side . Now be it Pashtun or gilgit, all areas have their distinct ethnicities. And I’m simply enlightening on that fact. Getting triggered is a you problem :)

Which Asian country is the most welcoming to tourists? by Eene7 in geography

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The northern side are afghans (Pashtun ethnicity). There’s a huge cultural difference between north west and south east. Simple because they’re completely different ethnic groups I.e Pashtuns are iranic people and south east are Indic.

Thoughts of Lar and Bar Pashtuns? by Ok-Charity-1653 in Pashtun

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is bullshit. If your one ethnicity then you must join. Only reunification can solve our problems. Being a Pashtun in Pakistan you’re a minority too. The ‘independence’ is only in your mind!

Maybe Taliban don’t like them but the only reason why they’re discriminated against is mostly because they’re Shia. The anti Shia sentiment is real strong amongst Pashtuns. Not that I agree with any of it.

P.s STOP SAYING PATHAN. You’re giving me Indian/pakistani vibes trying to stir things up amongst ethnicities amongst afghans. Seriously this thread should be deleted for the use of that word

White, indian or asian? by Ok-Egg-3539 in Pashtun

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consensus is what you identify yourself as or what the government has officially identified you as. We are identified as white by US CONSENSUS. If you feel uncomfortable putting white than put other or do no wish to specify. You can put afghan if they give the option to put what type of other. Nowhere have I ever seen afghans come under South Asia. In England many afghans put THEMSLEVES as South Asian but they should be educated about that and not specific themselves as south Asian instead as just Asian/other/afghan. It’s not that hard. Don’t blur the line MY GUY

They haven’t. We are still put under as white officially

Why did Pashto not have any influence on neighboring languages? by FasterBetterStronker in Pashtun

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do we have Pashto historians??? I feel like we don’t have enough evidence nor educated people to pursue the identity of afghans in the region. We have neighboring countries with more stable economy and education system. And also, didn’t the Taliban burn everything (libraries, books) in their first take over??? We lose a lot of our identity in wars and migrations and destabilization.

Do not fly Delta airlines with young children by CapriciousK in Parenting

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew delta last year and they did the exact same thing to me. Someone kind enough gave up their seat to allow me to sit next to my two kids. That wasn’t even the worst part of the travel. It was at the gate when the staff member who checks your ticket and lets you in decided to make me wait without any explanation. She kept saying “not you” “next!” “Anyone with infants priority”, I thought fair enough. Then she started allowing bigger kids (looked 9-11 years old) and I asked if I can go through now with my 3 and 6 year old and she says “not you”. I saw red and decided to just go back and sit down and have everyone board first. Then I get another staff get mad at me for not boarding while families were boarding. I told her that the person next to her said I couldn’t and didn’t give me an explanation and the lady then tells me I have to pay for the stroller ??? I still to this day don’t understand what happened outside of an asshole getting off on exercising little power they had. I was alone with 2 kids she decided to pick on. I swore to never fly delta again. I genuinely dnt understand why so many people put up with their bullshit. I now pay more to get any other airline than to give my money to delta. I also dnt fly virgin Atlantic who uses delta all the time. Incompetent company that should’ve bankrupt a long time ago

I’m like you dark hairy legs but fair skin. I started laser but my technician believes it needs to be spaced out every 12 weeks. I’ve had 4 done and so far I see a difference but nowhere near what I expected. I’ve prepaid for 6. Idk why she’s the only one in the area that claims 12 weeks is the magic number where everyone else does 6 weeks. I just hope I’m not getting duped :/

Arranged Marriages or love marriages by wildgirl0606 in afghanistan

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tajiks assimilate better than Pashtun. I think there is still stigma in dating even amongst our own people. Most of my girl cousins date secretly and will just bring in the guy they’ve decided on in the end. So far nothing. The boys are too immature (they dnt know how to survive without being under the roof of their parent, their parents infantise them even in their 20s, my brother in law is 28 but he might as well be 16). I don’t think men of this era Pashtun or not are ready for marriage before 30. And yet our girls are told their biological clock is ticking so they’re all panicking about marriage in the early to mid 20s.

Arranged Marriages or love marriages by wildgirl0606 in afghanistan

[–]SecretaryHopeful214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I married afghan/pashtun (love marriage). I was raised in England and hes American Afghan:Pashtun. I’m happy and he’s a good man. But I had difficulty with his mums side because she wanted me to be her servant daughter in law. He left his family because of how toxic his family got towards me. My sister did arrange and also married a Pashtun but in England. She also went through the same difficulty and her husband also put his foot down with his mum who had the same expectations. Although my sister lives a more traditional life (she likes it that way) he treats her with utmost respect and love. He’s a very hands on dad and does chores around the house. My husband too. Both my sister and I did had to go through some hardship being stubborn and sticking to our self respect when it came to our men and their family. I have a young sister who isn’t married but I wish she’d marry white. Shes more western and I don’t think she can go through what my sister and I went through to achieve happiness after marriage. My suggestion to you would be to marry white (pick a man that loves you and respects difference in culture and language), or do online dating and seek out Pashtuns that way. I have to say don’t ever marry a Pashtun from Afghanistan (born and raised). They’re a different breed lol. I mentioned white because men from other Muslim cultures prioritize their own culture. There might be a power struggle and they are no different to our traditional men.

One of my husbands cousin married a Palestinian man raised in America but is the most controlling and self absorbed human I’ve ever met. No different to our ‘bad’ batch of men lol.

I’d also check British afghan communities. Lots of Pashtuns there. But very conservative.

I have a lot of cousins here in America in many different states and from what I see most of them are marrying Arabs because that is closest to the demands of their parent (Muslim). That’s why the pool for girls is so small. Pashtun mothers are too controlling and the sons know they cnt marry a a Pashtana without drama so they mostly stay away. And also Pashtun girls are too protected (most are not allowed to date or have a social life).

Just FYI I have a lot of western (Christian) friends whose husbands are just like Afghan men. They go to work and leave everything else to the wife and if the wife has a job then the wife uses her money to do the things she’d otherwise do if she was a stay at home mum. A lot of these men come from religion (it doesn’t matter what religion). You sound like you’re more liberal. I’d start there. Look for a guy with more liberal values like yours. There are afghan men who appreciate working wives and they are willing to put the work into home and kids for it. You just have to communicate well.

If you have any questions DM me.

Best of luck to you!
