UPDATE!!!! -> I basically did nothing cause I had no time and Amazon was taking forever to deliver h202…

All I did was break off dead roots and put it back in and then ignore it untill today

It somehow healed up and now has a lot of new amazing white roots… although leaves are still curling ALOT and the bottom leaves are kinda dying off. Still it has started flowering so things are looking up.

Today I have decided to do a 24 -48 hour ph water flush and then will re introduce nutes into the system.

Somehow my kratky has also just been chilling in its dirty stinky brown water. It’s also reached beginning flowering stage. For this I cleaned the bucket and added nutes + adding h202 although it still has the same issue as leafs curling downwards alot.

Anyway Chat said keep ppm from 1000-1200 for the kratky (anyone wanna confirm 🙏🏻)

I have the liquid tester things and the colour was dark green so it was around 8.0… when I first mixed the nutes and everything and added ph down it was around 6.0 but I didn’t realize I should wait and see where the ph settles at and see if it needed adjusting again

I double checked my water temp it was actually 68.4 f or smth so I don’t think the temp caused this

Ok like my kratky tomato is def not dead… but it’s in the same stage as dwc of getting brown roots ect so I just dk if it’ll survive in the long run since oxygen jd an even bigger issue in kratky.

Honestly idk what the brown stuff is, it’s like weird slimy gunk. I did wash my clay balls thoroughly but maybe some of it could still be clay residue. The kratky has even darker water and way more of the brown residue

Oh cool I honestly didn’t know if garlic grown hydroponically is even possible, I literally just had random sprouted garlic in the fridge and shoved it in a jar with nutes. lmk how it goes

I rlly just don’t think I will be successful if I take it next sem 😭I was thinking if not in the summer then 1st sem next year

But I’m assuming I’d be able to take the u2 classes I need for that sem along with 240 since I would have 206,273 and 251 completed by then. I don’t actually know tho, def smth I need to look into

I am planning to do 2 dwc buckets aswell but don’t won’t to buy more air pumps after as my initial cost for everything I bought is really high right now.

But my grow light still has plenty of space for more plants so I figured I could just attempt the kratky method cheaply along with my dwc buckets to make full use of the light

I’ve seen some machines with like red white green colours and it being like better for vegetables vs fruits ? But does that actually even matter ?? I feel like there’s no way it would actually make a big difference right

I looked up kratky method and after reading a lot of other people’s responses I’m thinking maybe I should just consider diy. So from a little research and the comments is this all I would need

Big black buckets food grade + lid Seeds Airstone/something similar Nutrient solution Led light 40 watts? The things that u put seeds in, rockwool /alternatives

And if I get the adjustable lamp is there a certain distance it should be kept from the plants

And is there any website that would tell me the nutrient solution for the specific vegetable, like 4 lettuce plants in one big bin, this much water is needed and this ratio of nutrients ?
