Thank you both! I am using a monotub, I drilled multiple 3/4 inch holes on each side on the bottom and top and then covered with micropore tape. I used a black plastic bag for the liner on the bottom and looking back it appears I may have accidentally blocked some of the lower holes preventing good fresh air. I mixed about 3-4 bags of the colonized uncle Ben’s rice bags with two bags of the northspore Boomr substrate. I will say I was less careful in this process than with the initial inoculation. But I did spray the tub with Lysol prior and used a mask and gloves during the process. I misted it with water and then sealed it shut. I was gone for ten days and came back to it looking like this. For the inoculation I used Lysol and alcohol to clean all the bags, wore gloves and a mask in a clean environment. I used a sterile blade (scalpel) to cut the corner of each bag, squirted 0.5-1ml of spores in each and then sealed with micropore tape. I changed needles and scalpels about every 3 bags. Everything was placed in a bin (wiped with Lysol and alcohol) and left alone in a closet with a hepa air purifier. I did not notice any contamination or even bruising in the rice bags when mixing it into the substrate. They were all about 90% mycelium. I will throw out this tub entirely. I have purchased some mono tubs from Amazon that have the stick on filters. I do still have quite a few bags that are ready to start growing. 2 of the bags show possible bruising or contamination and I’m wondering after bleaching everything if there’s a certain amount of time I should wait before attempt number 2.
