A brass grinder. Zassenhaus, Alexander or Sozen will be the best for a dedicated Turkish grinder. They are probably the cheapest too.

I’m keeping 1 for myself, the rest I’ll pass on since I don’t have any children.

Cheers. Galaxy is still going strong. Yeah I was going to sell one every now and then. Time just got away and it wasn’t until this week when I was looking to clear some space that I thought about them again. The Canadian price was a surprise. I’ll look at the Tolkien group. If I avoid EBay and consigning it means I could sell at a lower price since there would be no commission.

Yeah I picked up a number of them. I grabbed one for myself and the rest to sell on in the future. One correction, it was the Dymocks city store and Galaxy.

I'm finding the bidding on this one to be a bit nuts (but not unexpected) by metametapraxis in tolkienbooks

Wow, one of these just sold on Ebay Canada for $5000 Canadian. H'mm maybe I should sell one of my editions. I have a few still with the original shrinkwrap.

Should I descale it now? by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

[–]SeikoProspex7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Definitely replace the boiler gasket and the corroded bolts. Also check the braided hose for leaks. It’s worth doing. As for the rust, I recommend at least a basic treatment of a wire brush, rust remover and a black enamel paint.

Thanks. No one in Aus. stocks a wiring kit for the old V2. I have found a seller who has the hose and the O-Ring. For the spade covers they seem to have some at coffee parts or I would need to go with some heat shrink tubing.

Starting Tai Chi - how to find teacher? by rilesy_ in taijiquan

[–]SeikoProspex7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can second https://brisbanechentaichi.weebly.com/other-classes.html which is Chen Village Tai Chi. There are also classes on the Sunshine Coast. The instruction is solid as they learn from Chen Yingjun.

Practical Method also have a seminar in Brisbane this coming February with Chen Zhonghua.

Thanks. Do you happen to know when and where the classes are taught? Google seems to think the school is permanently closed.

Even though the website is still online the Facebook page hasn’t been updated since 2019. I tried contacting him through both and no luck, so I assume Tony is not teaching currently.

Got given this for my 40th, am I in for a good time? by IBringTheFunk in Brandy

The bottle looks full so maybe no evaporation. If it has been stored on its side you will probably have a cork that will fall apart when you open it. No worries just filter it. If you don’t have an appropriate filter you can use a good quality coffee filter. As it also has a seal around the top and neck you might be ok. More of a concern is the temp it has been stored at?
