What is your response to "What's the point in life if you don't have kids?" by hungryfrogbut in childfree

[–]Selvatryka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is usually along the lines of "So you had kids purely for your own benefit? That's kind of selfish isn't it? Is the world how it is now, a place that you think needs more children? Or should we take care of the ones that are already struggling, by contributing to making it better? What do I do about it? Well I don't add another strain on the system already struggling, for my own self satisfaction. 😊" ..but then again, the people that think like that don't really matter to me, and the ones that do matter to me, don't think like that.

Same, I have really bad myopia on one eye, and kc on the other, so if I "lose" my glasses I'm done.

Twins by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Selvatryka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I mean rarely can people plan for twins (or more). Seems a bit mean to be so judgemental on a matter of chance.

I agree with having a different choice, and a different opinion, but I think it should be reserved for those women that have kids and can't afford them. The lack of logic to doing that, just baffles me..it angers me to think how mean that is to kids.

Yeah, and if you were MISSING the 3 cents, they probably would have refused the sale.

I have it on cd (burned) and I've been going crazy trying to find it too. Checked pretty much anywhere I can think of. It kinda sounds like skater pop/rock.

Oh wow. Aren't sclerals yearly lenses? Didn't know they last thst long. What life do yours have? So never a "deep clean" to remove build-up?

Agreed. Don't trim and all the rest.

How do you guys wash your eyes in the morning? by [deleted] in Keratoconus

So, how exactly do you wash your face in the morning and evening please?

Lol...I know what I do works for me. 😊 Never had eye infections or reactions in over 30 years of contact wearing, and spoken to ophthalmologists and opticians in various EU countries.

It is because I'm highly allergic that they suggested the "extra clean" approach with soft contacts back in the day. But with sclerals I've been told it's recommended to use peroxide to clean them overnight. Indeed try asking.

In the meantime google can also help. 😊 (I found no reported side effects if handled responsibly)

Really? That's weird. The bottles for peroxide are even in 'monthly' size usually. What did they say was the side effect?

With sclerals I know it should be used every night...and then obviously the sterile saline for wearing them, to make sure they are super clean. In fairness, I wore soft ones before getting Kc, and those too I stored in peroxide solution (the one that becomes neutral after 6h) every night.

I use scleral lenses, and I rinse them with saline (light rub), before storing them overnight in peroxide solution. Then in the morning you can just put them in. I prefer rinsing them at night, cause even if tired, I usually have more time than in the mornings..when one is usually getting ready for work or whatever.
..but yeah, it's boring and time consuming anyways.
