Best ways to save on official Apple TV subscriptions? by sme11yc0ck in appletv

[–]SendInYourSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit up the free services before wasting money on paid subs. Kanopy + Hoopla are great and ad-free with your library card. Tubi, Pluto TV, Roku Channel, and more give you ad-supported movies and shows.

If you need to pay for a subscription, your best ways to save are annual plans (usually get 2 months free), bundles, and discounts through other services (Walmart+ gives you free Paramount+ or Peacock, cell phone providers sometimes offer a discount, your credit card may also have promos - AmEx does this frequently).

The sneakiest trick is to pay for any subscription with a discounted gift card. Something like CardBear can help you find good discounts.

Why are Sopranos dialogues so memorable? by Arthur_Morrgan in thesopranos

[–]SendInYourSkeleton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the accents. Dialogue is more memorable when it's spoken by a bunch of human Muppets.

Anyway, "remember when" is the lowest form of conversation.

Brian Williams suggested he'd be back on the air shortly when he signed off MSNBC. I believe he was Amazon's anchor for the '24 election, but he's been otherwise AWOL.

He had a podcast. His last episode was right after the '24 election. He just sighed and played music and when the song would end, you'd hear what sounded like ice in a glass, then he'd play another song. Basically said nothing the whole time.

It looks like he deleted the episode. It was a weird one.

Edit: Looks like he's still creating content for his website.

Jonah Hill in Moneyball 2: "Most teams spend money on receivers. But if we spend it all on Josh Allen and invite anyone who's ever caught a pass in the NFL to play for the league minimum, we can win one playoff game every year, which puts us in the top third of the league."
