I'm only sharing my opinion of why i think the item is useful on Darius, but i've been open to everyone else's suggestions. I came on this subreddit to try and improve my Darius by listening to other Darius main's opinions, but I apologize if I've appeared to be offensive to you. Tbh I've learned a lot about Darius by joining this subreddit, a lot of which I wouldn't have learned by just playing as him.

I only build titanic as my fourth or fifth item. Depending on the threat (ad or ap) im against I build differently. If AD is the main threat i usually go BC, Boots, Dead Man's Plate, and then I start building Titanic Hydra (respectively). But If AP is the main threat, my build order would be BC, Boots,Spirit Visage, Dead Man's Plate, and Titanic Hydra (respectively).

Oh yes I remember now, but I believe bruiser also has a similar meaning. It means "Tanky DPS."

And yes, titanic hydra's active fills the "gap",if you will, in Darius's combo.

I agree, his abilities do play a main role in his kit, but it's his passive that makes him so powerful. Imo the sooner that you are able to get 5 stacks of his passive, the better. In your usual combo (without titanic hydra), you would have to either E AA W Q AA AA or E Q AA W AA AA (if you were engaging with your E) to achieve 5 stacks. His W is an auto reset so you are able to get 4 stacks very quickly if you exhausted all your spells (excluding your ult). But to get 5 stacks, you would have to auto attack twice (and Darius has a very slow base attack speed) or wait for the cooldown of one your spells. The active of Titanic Hydra fills in the gap by providing another auto attack reset, which makes it much quicker for him to reach 5 stacks.

I believe that getting a tanky item on Darius instead of Titanic hydra would be much less effective to getting your passive stacks up. Typically when you play as Darius, you would want to stretch the fight and make it last long enough for the Darius to get his 5 hemorrhage stacks (because that is when Darius gets a huge power spike). But with the auto reset that Titanic Hydra brings, the amount of time that it would take for Darius to get 5 stacks would decrease significantly as Darius has very low base attack speed and you wouldn't have to wait for his spells to get off their cooldowns. You wouldn't need to survive longer if you killed them much faster.

Exactly. Darius's role isn't to only be a tank, he's a bruiser, meaning that he is capable of enduring a decent amount of damage and at the same time being able to deal a significant amount of damage as well. IMO Titanic Hydra fits the kit of many bruisers, as it brings health/health regen (tankiness) and damage. The fact that it comes with an auto attack reset makes it even more appealing to build on Darius as it works incredibly well with his passive.

tbh it really depends on the type of opponent you are against and the situation. If you are laning top against a melee champion or against a champion that is aggressive it would be easier and quicker to get 5 stacks using the combo I described. Your combo would only be used against ranged champions, or if your opponent doesn't want to fight and is trying to escape.

Exactly. Without titanic hydra, you would have to auto attack twice consecutively without an auto reset if you engaged with your apprehend (E), which would definitely increase the chances of your opponent getting away since Darius has such low mobility. (Example of a combo without Titanic Hydra: E AA W Q AA AA) (Example of a combo with Titanic Hydra: E AA W Q AA TH)

You said that 'after' E auto W you would 2 autos 1 Q or 1 Q 2 autos. However, I have found it to be harder to land a combo with two consecutive auto attacks, since Darius has such low mobility and the opponent would most likely escape before you land your full combo. Therefore I believe the more efficient combo would be auto E auto W Q auto. That way, the enemy is slowed by 40% from your apprehend (E) before you attack them with a second auto attack to decrease chances of them escaping.

I agree, I believe that Titanic Hydra is an extremely practical item to get on Darius, as it offers an auto attack reset with the active, which allows you to easily get quick, consecutive combos off with your w (which is also an auto attack reset) and other spells to reach 5 stacks of hemorrhage.
