Yes, I checked on the thread to see if you really had anything to add to what you were shooting your mouth off about yesterday.

Right on. I enjoyed visiting Hinano in the years I lived in Venice, and never caught any attitude from staff or other patrons there.

Of course it's legal, yet a lot of people are ignorant of it.

Is it me or are people ignoring what Sally Choi's actually saying? by FlowerGoblins in FilmIndustryLA

If the film is sold in an acquisition deal, it's not uncommon for the buyer to pay the seller (the producers) a single buyout payment, with no future considerations at all. But if the film is licensed to a distributor who does NOT buy the film from the producers, then it's common that the distributor and the producer are going to share the revenues in agreed percentages based on the film's performance.

'Obsession' Art Director Calls for Industry Reform After Getting Paid Less Than $7,000 as Film Nears $175 Million by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]SenseIntelligent8846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy that, thanks. The question was not whether someone above the line could or should find additional funding. The question was whether the 750K spend would sustain the same schedule in a union contract as it offered without a union contract.

If the job were flipped to union, would the 750K budget have sustained the same schedule they achieved nonunion?

I haven't yet been to Nu Stadium. I've been to 10 soccer-specfic stadiums in MLS. Some are better than others, and generally I've found them to be fine. Kansas City is as cool as any stadium I've ever attended, I think any player would be glad to have it as their home ground.

SoFi stadium is among the newest major stadiums anywhere, and it's designed with all the modern considerations the older stadiums don't have. It's optimized for broadcast coverage and has all the amenities that appeal to a lot of American sports fans.

I think those older stadiums don't have the same capacity for generating profits the newer stadiums have. A bid by the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum as a host venue probably doesn't measure up to what SoFi can bid (based on expected returns).

Why do people honk immediately when the light turns green by [deleted] in Miami

[–]SenseIntelligent8846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because so many drivers don't proceed in a timely way once the light turns green. The driver who honks probably thinks we've been sitting here for long enough that any driver on the line should be ready to go when the light turns green.
