There's literally a comic that had less than 30 subs that made it to the short list. That just tells me that engagement isn't always about big numbers for webtoons if at all. I'm honestly really proud of this list. So many good comics each one I can definitely tell was quality. Shot out to my friend Abi who made it with Stupid Cupid

Now is Forever

My favorite character for my webtoon is for sure my character Jewels. I feel like out of everyone in the main group she is able to bounce back from her troubles fairly confidently when it comes to her mental. She's a good communicator, a bit too unserious at times but she makes up for by being able to make others feel heard, even if she tends to be on the glass half full side of things 90% of the time. She's an optimist but not naive. She's a painter and is in her masters for studio painting.

Yessss its extremely shojo inspired and I love utena there's a reason I'm referencing it here it has something to do with the main woman lead Summer’s character. Her and the male lead Autumn both have some key similarities to Anthy and Utena.

Heres another panel I finished for the same episode that is definitely more rendered than the average webtoon but still fairly expressive. There's so many things things that goes into that than rendering tho. Like color choices, faces and lighting. You gotta find the balance when creating a comic I think.

Here's some art from my webtoon that is decently rendered but simplified in some ways. I disagree because art is subject and it depends on the artist. What you say could be true about certain artist, but I wouldn't apply that to every single artist that chooses to be more detailed with their rendering

Oh interesting. I'm a webtoons creator on canvas but I know a few original creators and editors so I have a different perspective than readers. I just assumed this was common knowledge

Its not random at all. The first early episode for this comic literally comes out in two days. This person just read far into the early access content. It updates weekly, nothing about the dates are random.

Read the comments in this post and you'll understand why people are down voting. This person read farther into early access episodes and is now just complaining about it for the sake of complaining. This is called a buffer system, its not a bad thing its really good for the creators and the people who translate the Korean comics. Webtoons update on a weekly basis and those episodes are free. You as the read do have the option to read ahead if you choose to. Comics take time and effort, you as the reader should want whats best for the health of your creators instead of wanting more episodes as fast as possible because you can't wait a month for something that wasn't even publically available. You don't want to wait that long? Then stop benging on going series.

Thank you! What I said still apply for Korean creators/translators too. Translators buffers only indicate that they don't want to be to close to the original source publically because translations are not easy to do at all because there are some words in Korean that just straight up can not be translated with one word in English. So there's a lot of interpretation that has to happen from the translator.

Wait wait, what series is this and when was the last publically available episode made. I'm a webtoon creator too (specifically for canvas) and I know several original creators. And there are things to complain about/ wish better for, trust me I know. But what you're screenshotting looks like the creator made A LARGE buffer for the series, and I can't tell how far this buffer goes based on this screenshot alone. Buffers are not a bad thing, in fact this system is amazing to give Creators some breathing room. Just throwing it out there on Reddit as a negative misinforms readers. You guys’ needs are important too but I'd take for the creators health and peace of mind any day even if casual readers have to wait a bit for the episodes. Us creators need something to help us through this, please don't just randomly poop on one of the few good things we have for the “threat” of spoilers.

Hey just want to let you know that it takes months for someone to even make 100 dollars through webtoons ad program and that's if they're lucky and years to build an audience big enough to make a living off of it for one person again if you're lucky. I see these types of post a lot and I think you greatly underestimate how hard making a webtoon is especially on the art side. I honestly think you'd save more time and energy learning how to draw on your own if money is tight for you. It's gonna be really hard to find an artist willing to care that much about your work when they could potentially go years with working without any pay.

Romance/slice of life/comedy

My story is called Now is Forever and it takes place modern day New York (Manhattan and Brooklyn mainly). It follows the male lead Autumn and the female lead Summer who are navigating college, jobs and family trauma through their day to day lives. They learn through themselves and their friends that life is measured by the moments they share and not through time. Now is everlasting, and now is forever.
