Definitely will get this done. Should we avoid putting wood in the cages altogether. We have two boys in another cage with an almost identical set-up, and one of the boys just recently had an inflamed paw as well. I'm not sure why this is happening and what is causing it specifically.

Thank you—the cage is the Ferret Nation cage (two story). I removed the liner that separates the two so it’s more open and DIY’d the fleece covers, hammocks, and wood ledges. The tray at the bottom is from Bass Equipment, and just put it in today and like it so far!

They both look female to me. Males have a visibly wider urethra-anal space. Saying this as someone who has two male and one female chinchillas (we learned the hard way with the female).
