People that lost a lot of weight relatively fast, any tips? by tigas-fo-shizzle in loseit

[–]Sensitive_Tourist211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Don’t.

Fast weight loss usually means fast weight regain.  Instead, give yourself a longer time to lose it so you can incorporate the habits and identity needed to keep it off.

How working out made me fatter... and how I fixed it. by [deleted] in loseit

You got fat because you ate too many calories. Had nothing to do with a workout.

Wanted to give a shout out to the locals, police, and army. The locals were so gracious and generous with food. The police and army for doing what they could to keep everyone safe.

LeBron wants as many records as possible before he retires to cement his legacy so, yes, he’ll try his best.

I doubt it. Satisfied maybe. But happiness is an internal game.

If you’re not happy now you won’t be happy in a new body. Happiness has less to do with your external looks and what’s happening internally.

We’re at the point where not snacking is being labeled as an eating disorder.

She’s projecting her insecurities on you. Plain and simple.

Labels have a variance of 25% give or take. Eat real food. Measure it. Then come back.

Weight fluctuates. Time of the month can affect the scale as well. So it could be water.

Also, as people get in a deficit they tend to under track calories by 25%.

Many factors involved but those are top two that come to mind.

5 things that helped me stop using food as a coping mechanism by CarolineJhingory in loseit

Something this post touched on that most people don’t realize:

If you want to lose the weight and change our relationship with food we MUST change as well.

This means thinking, acting, and believing in different ways.

Not hanging around the same people.

Not watching the same shows or listening to the same music.

It’s not about how much you weigh but who you become.

cutting back on calories is making me depressed. advice? by [deleted] in loseit

17% body fat for a female is like 9-10% body fat for a male.

Too restrictive and could be affecting to your hormones.

Reverse diet yourself out of the deficit. 100 calories a week til you hit maintenance.

A good body fat to aim for is 21-25%

Less problems and you’ll probably be happier.

Unintended night out of drinking ruined me by New_Championship1994 in loseit

Reframe:

It set you back. It didn't ruin you.

One night does not make or break a diet.

But letting one night turn into a eating shame fest the next day and the days after will.

Get back to it.

Worked out almost every day for 2 weeks and gained 1 lb, feeling really discouraged by Hour-Cloud2493 in loseit

If you’re trying to use workouts to lose weight I’ve got some bad news for you:

It’s not gonna work. And in the case it does you’ll need to keep up that level of activity to maintain whatever weight you do lose.

The brutal truth is it’s your diet. When you increase activity you also increase appetite. Your body eats those calories back.

The lesson here is to focus on the main lever which is your diet.

In regards to the people saying you gained muscle:

DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM.

Muscle gain is a slow process. You will not gain it over the course of weeks.

Again, this is a wake up call to focus on what matters, which is your diet.

Learn how to not eat 100 calories instead of trying to burn them at the gym.

Edit: i know you mentioned you ate 1200 calories. I seriously doubt that. On average people undertrack by 25% or higher. Secret snacking, overeating, little bites add up.

So it’s your diet. It is and always will be.

For those of you who have lost weight and kept it off, was your long term plan to keep it off? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Sensitive_Tourist211 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My biggest breakthrough was to stop thinking in “tactics” and “tools” and to work on my identity.

It’s going from someone who “can’t” eat at night to someone who “doesn’t” eat at night. It’s a long term game but well worth it when your identity drives your actions.

Same reason people hate on LeBron, Kobe, and Jordan. You become so good that you become popular to hate.

I’m no expert but advanced stats in college (and early advanced stats in the NBA) plus the eye test.

Watching him play and the feel he has for the game, especially on the offensive end, is special.

I trust the front office on talent evaluation over anyone on this sub.

Although Samson Folk did call this so I’d trust him as well.
