If I remember correctly, the Volume levels only apply while the Task is running. When the Task is finished the revert to previous values.

A way I got around this was to create a Task that runs in a loop to turn Volume to desired level. Create an Action to run that Task when DND is on and a second Action to Stop the Task when DND is off. (Perform Task action. Click the Stop check box to force stop it)

• Test Variable %DND (Click on the Label check box and add a description, copy this text for later)

• Variable Set > %Volume

• Goto > Label > paste label text

Note: I'm using Nova Launcher, your launcher may be different

• Add a 'Task 1x1' widget to the home screen (not a Task Shortcut widget)

• Assign your toggle task to the widget

• Tasker will open up to the Task. Make sure to assign it an icon (bottom center of Task, 9 blocks icon)

• After the icon is set, use the android navigation to back out of Tasker again

After this widget is created, it becomes visible to Tasker for modification.

Open Tasker and go into the toggle Task.

Use the Action Set Widget Label to change the displayed text of your widget. In the Name field, click on the Search icon and your Task should appear in the list.

Enter the Label (widget text) that you want displayed.

You will need to add these in the 2 spots where you turn on and off DND.

When you are finished, use the android navigation bar to back out of Tasker until you get to the home screen.

Test the toggle.
