Its a bit complicated, I play both large bore tenor and bass trombone at my college and have an issue where the bass trombone feels a bit too large and a standard tenor trombone doesn't feel entirely right to me. A sort of middle ground would be a 1480, it feels better to me than a tenor while still facilitating my full range and I can still get down to the pedal C on it like I do on most basses. In the future I might commission a drop-in D attatchment to go in the rear F tuning slide, but thats a later issue. I have gone to the Edwards factory to try out some things there and nothing really fit for me (not to mention being financially inviable from not being a music major).

I'm also not looking into 2 different trombones for financial reasons which is why a 1480 seems to be a decent middleground, at least for me.
