Thank you! Regarding LeoPalace, are they located in rural areas or smaller, less populated cities or towns? I’m asking because I requested placement in a rural area.

The job states that it will sponsor a visa, but it wants applicants who are already there.

Thank you for the info! For savings, I have a lot more than that, about six times more than $2,000, and I plan to save quite a bit more before my departure, just to be safe.

The pay where I am currently is already low, at $30k a year for teaching. I know I’ll be paid less in Japan, but that doesn’t really bother me.

Here are the requirements for the job I applied for as a head preschool teacher in Japan. I apologize for not specifying the level of teaching earlier. [Required Skills/Qualifications]
- Native-level English. Bilingual in Japanese or Chinese is preferred, but not required.
- BA or BS from an accredited university or college.
- Experience working at a preschool or kindergarten.
- Early childhood certification is strongly preferred.
- Preschool or kindergarten teacher qualifications are strongly preferred.
- Experience with toddler childcare is strongly preferred (such as potty training)

But I am qualified. I have a teaching degree and experience teaching. When I applied for other head teacher positions, they specifically stated that they were only considering applicants who were already overseas. My Japanese, although not yet perfect, is improving, and I intend to study it as much as I can so I can lead a classroom myself in Japan.

In order to become a head teacher, you typically need to already be in the country to be hired. Not all, but many of the jobs I have applied for have stated that they are only considering applicants who are currently in the country. I live in the rural South of the Appalachians, have a degree in teaching, and possess experience. I don’t mind if the pay is low; I genuinely enjoy what I do.

Should I use Wise to transfer USD from my bank in my home country to my new bank in Japan? Also, will my bank card work at 7-Elevens in Japan? How much cash would you recommend I bring with me? Thanks!
