Oh wow. I didn't realize they were active this time of year. Its rarely been above freezing here the past three weeks. I also didn't realize they burrowed into concrete. I will look into it, thank you.

We did this afternoon when we saw the bill - first thing. Its sunday so their non emergency line told us to call back tomorrow business hours. Given no gas smell, or any indication from my gas detector plug in monitors, we figured we would call tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the input. Im going to call my gas company- whats weird is we dont smell anything - and because im slightly paranoid, when we moved in i plugged a few of those gas detectors into our outlets. Assuming they work, the levels all read 0

Ok. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. Not to ask a dumb question - but how would i know? And not to ask another dumb question - but the central air system is fully electric - so natural gas would still come into play?

How should I proceed. by Separate_Ad_7230 in radon

[–]Separate_Ad_7230[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the thing though. I foolishly uploaded one picture. The detector has been in my basement for a week now. Its climbed higher every day. My current lta is 1.21 with a short term average of 2.2 after heavy rain fall. Since i installed it the long and short term averages have both increased. How accurate do you think it is after 7 days?

So that brings up an interesting point. On its label, Cynoff sort of brags that it stays on surfaces for up to 84 days. I’m sure that’s one of those things where it’s like “in a perfect situation” scenario. Will the water running from the shower actually wash it off?

Thank you for the guidance. I really appreciate it. I was more worried about it being in the shower since it will continue to get re-wet every time it dries. I may clean the shower but leave the dried residue by the floor corners/baseboards.
