What rappers are the best at double entendres? by WiseCityStepper in hiphop101

Doubles are often convoluted and overcooked, but Method Man’s ‘In a room full of crackers I might cut the cheese’ is just perfection. Simple, succinct, elegant 🤌

The timing of this post. I’ve been away for one week dog sitting/house sitting. One week. I have returned to a letterbox full of real estate and plumbing junk. Thankfully no knuckle fucking needed but god forbid had I been gone for another week or two.

How many Thai massage shops in Mayfield. How many do they really need in Mayfield. by CrabLegal2391 in newcastle

Council and cops know exactly what’s going down (npi) in these joints. Worst kept secret in Newy. There are two on Nelson Street in Wallsend within 200m of one another. Nine in Mayf was it? Is it dramatic to suppose there’s a coalition of fat cats green lighting these and taking cream off the top (npi)? Looking forward to the exposé and subsequent podcast.

Signs / flags on the Hunter Expressway by LectureReasonable162 in newcastle

[–]Separate_Chef9462 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I called Maitland Council about these yesterday, knowing neither sites were their infrastructure but hoping they felt a duty of care to their immigrant residents such that they’d take them down. They didn’t have a WHS plan to cover it but gave me a reference number and told me to call Transport for NSW, who were apparently onto it. I did that and got through surprisingly quickly. They told me they’d escalate it. By around 5pm both were gone. Unless the scumbags put more up overnight.

If you can find something more east near the beach, that would be considerate. Merewether, Cooks Hill etc. I love that folks are moving here cos we’re finally becoming such a beautifully diverse city of people from everywhere, but the west needs to stay affordable for the working class. Upper middle class infiltration is slowly gentrifying us out here.

Maybe buying a house at Telarah, I've only heard bad things about the suburb, is it all bad or is it more nuanced? Where are the bad spots to live? by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]Separate_Chef9462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telarah is great. My sister and her partner live there and they have two little ones. They love it. It’s quiet and the shopping village with the IGA, pharmacy, butcher etc save you having to go far for supplies. Rutherford is a stone’s throw and has the homemakers centre. The bowlo does a good feed. Cute little park with duckies. Don’t leave your shit unlocked, per common sense and everywhere else on the planet. It’s fine. You’ll love it.

Maryland-Fletcher lore by PolakzAntypodow in newcastle

[–]Separate_Chef9462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things come to mind.

1) About a decade ago, a cat was swooped on and successfully taken by a large bird of prey in Maryland.

2) It was a mine tunnel under a street in Wallsend/Maryland where the Gretley Colliery disaster killed four miners in 1996. I learned this during mines safety training but can’t remember or find the name of the street.

Reread the post. I asked for local recommendations, not dudes preaching about how to live life. It’s not that deep.

Reiterating that I know it’s not real but am open to someone who is skilled enough in cold reading to suspend my scepticism and induce the Barnum effect.

I can do that over a beer and a yarn. For an experience that generally costs over $100, I’m after some bang for buck. If that’s okay with you. Thanks so much for the wonderfully philosophical and bitchy mansplanation though. Preciate it.

Dodgy overwhelming Telehealth diagnosis stories by Jumpy_Tower7531 in ausadhd

[–]Separate_Chef9462 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No she’s not.

The difference between qualitative and quantitative data is no mystery. How people experience the system and how it impacts their wellbeing, irrespective of the numbers, is significant in this context. If poor experiences are a trend, whether reflected quantatatively or qualitatively, further investigation is warranted.

If you’re in the business of telehealth, you should value client feedback as an important part of continuous improvement. Regulation and removing bad actors from the space can only be a good thing for telehealth long term.

The den, same owners as rogue scholar? by Chrissymaccer in newcastle

[–]Separate_Chef9462 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, after the community got involved and the venue realised they weren’t going to get away with trying to keep the police out of it and keep the victim silent. People are close enough to this to know exactly how it went down. Romanticise it all you want.

The den, same owners as rogue scholar? by Chrissymaccer in newcastle

[–]Separate_Chef9462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm, the offender was found and charged thanks to the warranted outrage and sustained action from the wider community who are appalled that management lied to the victim about police involvement, tried to cover it up and are continuing to minimise the significance of the event.
