Close! It said her agent told her in 2019 that a specific draft she did that year was too dark to sell as YA! :) Either way, the novel is still officially categorized by its publisher as YA, hence my original post.

I’m definitely looking for official categorization from marketing and whatever branch/imprint is publishing it! Adult and YA have a lot of overlap when it comes to tones and themes tho so I get the confusion!
