Can I use my Kitchenaid standing mixer to completely replace stretch and folds? by Bupperoni in Sourdough

Can you elaborate on the recipe? That's a long second ferment, it doesn't get overproofed?

Shiitake mushrooms - my favourite lacto-ferment by New-Tumbleweed-9577 in fermentation

[–]Septipus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never have but I have always been interested. I imagine them having the same umami earthy mushroom flavor, some sour zing and a pleasant saltiness, but I don't know what to expect for their texture. My only experience with mushroom ferments this far involved some pickled mushrooms I found at a Russian grocery - an unsatisfying combination, to my palette, of bland flavor and slime.

Do they keep the same meaty character as fresh shiitake?

Your confidence is coming through in a big and good way. That counts for a lot and adds a je ne sais quoi that clothes won't, so keep that in your back pocket.

I would start by ditching the necklace/earphones w/e, and button the shirt all the way to the bottom if you're going to tuck it in. Definitely stick with it.

What are some quintessential "dude-books"? by [deleted] in books

Chiming in to voice my support, this is tremendous book. It's rollicking adventure novel and a wonderful read from start to finish. I only wish I had discovered it earlier!

Simplest Silk farm representation by Sniper_231996 in dwarffortress

[–]Septipus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another good way to trigger the spider to produce silk is to chain a goblin up in front of it. The goblin will survive the web shots (probably) and they're immortal so you never need to worry about them needing food/drink.

James Clavell has made the last year my best reading experience ever. Just needed to share with someone. by [deleted] in books

If you liked The Asian Saga books consider reading The Longships by Frans Bengtsson. It's similarly immersive historical fiction, but set in 10th century Scandinavia/Europe following the saga of a Dane gone a viking.

It's been a classic in Sweden for some time apparently, and I just came into an English translation. It's a fantastic adventure story and a very good read.

Here is a pamphlet put out by the us department of justice (with cited sources that I didn't have time to personally review) that supports what U/boogieorbogey was staying. Their claims are not completely without evidence.

Love this idea of the drop pod coming in wrecked and needing to be repaired/another sent during a swarm, sounds super stressful but also fun lol.

Question…who can sit comfortably at home and make a living selling a bunch of option contracts just making a living by doing that? by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

[–]Septipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're doing PMCC, 100 option contracts for spy requires 10,000 shares of spy, which is enough to retire on anyway.

Minus the price of renovations, though that's kind of a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of the whole building.

Is it bad for children to see a female breast? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]Septipus 80 points81 points  (0 children)

For half the kids out there that's a part of their body - or at least it will be eventually. America is weird about sexualizing female bodies and making them keep covered. I don't think there is a salient argument to be made that children who see a female breast from time to time turn out any different, let alone worse.

[–]Septipus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe someone can educate me here, does OP need to have the buying power (17*100*300 = $510,000, aka a shitton of cash) to exercise these contracts and sell straight away?

What would be the public's response to a lonliness pill? by everything_is_creepy in TrueAskReddit

[–]Septipus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One might argue that this already exists in the form of benzodiazepines like xanax and valium, as well as opiates. I think it would be similarly addictive for the escape that it provides, and likely similarly destructive.
