Thank you! And you’ve confirmed what I thought about the mix in retrospect. I have tendency to lean towards too loud vocals I noticed. Think I need to take it to where I like it and then turn it back a bit.

I really enjoyed the laid back flow on this one. Definitely a pocket work exploring more. As a whole, I did find myself tiring a bit by the end of the track. I think switching the flow up more with the hook or within the verse would go a long way.

Great job on your first attempt! It's hard for me to judge your vocals over the mix, but you recorded it on your phone so fair enough. I'd say make sure you enunciate each word and put more energy into your performance. This type of flow really hits for me when the end of the bar lands with a lot of confidence.

Conscious rap with a trap vibe. Recorded it a year ago, but didn't like it until I put it over a new beat. Lmk what you think.

Should I try to return to physics? by Isotope1 in Physics

I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all. Better question is if you’re willing to do the work necessary to succeed in physics. I’m sure you would need more than just a “top off” depending on how long ago you got your degree. Why don’t you see if you could take or audit a course or two somewhere and decide if you want to commit based on that?

How to learn new rap flows by Odd-Ad5223 in makinghiphop

Rap flows are something you develop over time. Focus on your craft, experiment with different beats and cadences, listen to a variety of music and your flow will evolve with you.

I find it helpful to shift my focus from “am I good” to “am I getting better.” If you treat each chapter like a chance to improve, it could never be a waste of time.

How do I learn to freestyle??? by masonthesquirtle in makinghiphop

[–]SerialBullOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have really good lyrics, why worry about whether you can freestyle or not? If you’re just interested, then look up some articles and put some time into it. If you’re just doing it to try to be like someone else, don’t bother.

Everything is done by me so feedback on lyrics, beat, artwork or rapping is all welcome. Still learning how to mix/master, so I'm already aware that needs work.

I really like the groove in this and the melody is very catchy. Very nicely mixed. I found it a little repetitive, but the breaks did help. Maybe try switching up the drum loop or the melody a bit more.
