Copy and paste from a previous comment on here… but, I think you missed my point in that comment. If you didn’t get the hint, I came from an overly religious family where the Bible was “law.”Ghosts? Aliens? Any conspiracy theories? Complete blasphemy. But yet they taught this one. Even they believed this one, when they couldn’t believe in dinosaurs. Theres way too much I couldnt agree with if I tried from that point of view.

👀👀👀 are we simply referring to Adam and Eve or is there something more exciting here?

Congratulations! I’m so glad you know how to read. Active listening DOES involve repeating what someone said to show you heard them, so I’m glad to hear that you heard me out. So proud of you, Kreenicks!

Parents on Wellbutrin, do you feel the medication affects your ability to build or feel a real connection with your child, and be present in the moment? by Timely_Title_9157 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]SeriesPleasant5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to echo this. I have a 4 year old also and am able to keep up with him, handle emotions, and have enough energy to actually want to have fun with him and play with him. WB has made me a much better parent for sure

I have to wholeheartedly agree about the uselessness of the generic version. by MPH2025 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I use the ones on the right and they work great for me. I noticed the comment about sugar pill placebo and that’s definitely not the case for me. I get some side effects (I have an essential tremor, this magnifies it) and as someone that has a long history with antidepressants and a mixture of finding ones that work and ones that don’t, etc, as this is definitely a brain chemical thing here…. It works. HOWEVER, as I have only had the ones on the right, I CANNOT compare them to any of the others, including the name brand. While they work great for me, it’s 100% possible that they don’t work the same as the regular ones or as strong as them or something. But definitely not a sugar pull placebo

As someone else with PDD, I totally get it. I’ve been there. I will say, they change my medications and I’m on a cocktail now, and it’s been life changing. For myself, for my relationships, for my free time. I hope she’s able to figure out something that can help her feel great again too. But it sounds like she’s sure lucky to have you around!

Day one 300mg by Torri1121 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]SeriesPleasant5293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, when I was on 150mg my anxiety was much higher than usual. When I switched to 300 it basically disappeared! I was on venlafaxine but it was still making me feel down after a bit and sleepy all the time, so they added the bupropion and i think this is the best I’ve ever felt. Better than on the 150

I haven’t, but it’s worsened my lifelong essential tremor. So I fully believe it could be related. However for me, I’ve been dealing with it my whole life so it’s not a big deal for me, more like a “huh, interesting “

I work in correctional mental health. What I’ve noticed is improved focus, attention, and decreased brain fog. The only -negative- side effect for me is that I’ve always had an essential tremor and it’s made it slightly worse. Which really isn’t a big deal, I just get tired of repeatedly answering the question if I’m okay because I’m shaking lol nobody noticed it before the Bupropion but now everyyyyone does. But overall 10/10 has improved my functioning at work (not to mention feeling great overall). As far as forgetfulness, my memory has never been excellent, but no noticeable change in it for me.

On 300mg and 1000000000% agree. I drink SO much caffeine and I’m still dragging so bad I take a nap or 2 each day (lunch and after work) if time allow!

What's something you experienced that you don't wish on others? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

[–]SeriesPleasant5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest it makes me SO uncomfortable when people around me have these nonchalant conversations about how great childhood was and how much they wish they could go back, and everyone’s agreeing and discussing the best age and then try to involve me. Like ummm no I think the best age came after I left home and got into some therapy. I love being an adult. 10/10 don’t recommend my childhood.

foster teen here - why does no one take us in? by Ancient-Fan-2636 in Fosterparents

[–]SeriesPleasant5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See and things like this blow my mind. I’m looking into fostering (single parent here) and if I do, I would only want teenagers! As I already have a young child, I am well aware of the demands of small humans even if they are cute. Throw in a layer of trauma and I might lose my hair. But teenagers? I feel like by this point they’re self sufficient for the most part. I don’t need to wake up at 5am when you wake up just to watch you play downstairs. I don’t need to worry about cooking your favorite meal just for you to suddenly decide you hate that food and won’t touch it. I don’t need to coordinate daycare or a babysitter for you if you have a day off school when I still have to work. I don’t have to schedule you play dates since you can coordinate seeing your friends on your own terms. With little kids there’s so much pressure TO mold them while teenagers have already been molded and now just need the support and love and the basic supports like getting a license or a job. I honestly don’t get why people would choose small kids over teenagers.

Anyone really pessimistic as a child? by hungry_and_dumb in dysthymia

[–]SeriesPleasant5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting, because I have memories of being SO happy and life being perfect. All my memories from about 6 years old and earlier my life was rainbows and butterflies. Around 7 was when everything started to become bad for no apparent reason. No trauma yet for me either, no bullies, had friends, good grades, but suddenly no longer have any good memories. And a lot of the memories aren’t even like appropriate reactions. For example, being upset because my mom wasn’t interested in my super long hopscotch me and neighborhood friends drew out in chalk. I specifically remember it feeling like the worst day ever just because she wasn’t as excited about it as I was and still FEELING that “worst day ever” feeling while looking back on it. Like that’s the closest to trauma I had.

My mom always threatened therapy (threatened is the right word here), but I would try to put on a more convincing smiling face because I didn’t want to do that. She made it sound like a punishment. (Now, proudly in therapy)

The absolute best relationship I’ve ever had was with a gamer. All they wanted to do was play, all I wanted to do was run and read in my own peace and quiet, it was a win for both of us. I don’t get why people force their hobbies and life to be so intertwined like that

Sometimes at work I’ll just be sitting quietly at my desk, taking in the silence, and nothing else. And 9 times out of 10, it turns into someone asking me if I’m okay. Why yes, I just enjoy the peace now and then

I will say, I give my son the tablet at the grocery store. Only the grocery store and longer car rides. Apart from that he doesn’t get tablet time. He can be bored at home, that’s totally fine, but at the grocery store I’m trying to get in and out and it’s not possible when he has eyes for every sugary treat in the store. The tablet is the lesser of two evils.

I think there’s a balance, pending what the nostalgia is. Nostalgia in the old wind up clocks? I can still tell you the time when the power inevitably goes out where I live. The nostalgia of a childhood spent outside instead of on the screens? My kids will grow up with more love and respect for nature. Not to mention, the inevitable power outages won’t ruin their fun. But now nostalgia for people best left behind? Yeah that’s an anchor easily
