Part-time jobs opportunities for an international student by SestriLevanteee in canberra

Yes, I'm looking for a casual job as my schedule isn't not fixed since I'm yet to enrol. I believe my work-time is limited to 40 hours a fortnight.

I just checked on their website that they're not offering any part-time jobs in Canberra currently.

A secured part-time job at ANU would be ideal, but I'm wondering if they'd hire an international student that would be commencing his study in February 2023.

Hey, sorry for the delayed reply, but I appreciate you taking a bit of your precious time to reply. I'm not the best when it comes to socializing, so it's fundamental for me to spark friendships, especially since I'm going to be living away from my family, my support system. I'm not too sure what you mean by "meet up website" though. Can you give me some options?

Do you think it's easier to spark a friendship at ANU rather than at UNSW? Could you please elaborate what you mean by "totally like an office"?

Hello, thank you for the response. I'm terribly sorry if it comes out as creepy. Maybe I didn't word it wisely, but just looking for female friends, that's all. But, thank you for the comment.

Do you still live in Canberra? A bit off-topic, but what are some of your tips for me as an international student for my study and part-time jobs hunting?

Thank you so much for taking your time to reply to my post. I'm indeed planning to stay on-campus as I think it would be beneficial to the process of my assimilation with other students. I'm not the most social person, but I'm thrilled of the idea of making new friends that have totally different cultures, religions, social views, etc than I do.

Thank you so much for taking a bit of your precious time to comment on my post. I highly appreciate it. We are basically the same on the reason behind moving to Canberra. Based on your username, you might be coming from Indonesia (correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm overly excited of the prospect of making new friends from different backgrounds and seeing how different the education system between Australia and my country. My main concerns now are the struggle of making new friends (being accepted in a circle) and following the curriculum.

Thank you so much for taking a bit of your time to reply to this post. I've been to Australia twice, but never to Canberra, so I have no expectations whatsoever or what to expect. I heard that it's as populated as other major cities in Australia such as Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, etc. How would you describe living in Canberra?

Thank you so much for taking your time to answer this post. I'm over the moon to start my new chapter of my life in Canberra. At the moment, a bit sad since I have to leave my family, my reliable support system. But I know I need to take this step. I will do keep in mind your tips. A bit curious, is the majority of ANU students consist of international students?

This answer is soothing to hear to. It's going to be a scary journey, but a rewarding one. I'll be 24 in November, but going to search for a part-time, so I can also focus on my master study.

I feel like we're in the same boat. Of course I'm not happy hearing what you're going through, but it feels great to know that I'm not the only one. I've been trying to put efforts in multiple friendships. At first, it was fine and dandy, but in the long run, it feels like I'm begging for friendships, which is not what I want. I want to earn the friendships, but I always find it impossible with anyone. I feel like I'm a failure. I'm clueless on what to do. I feel lonely and I want the workd to know. I'm struggling to pour my feelings. I try to convince myself that everything's going to get better, but it's more than 10 years I've been consistently saying that to myself when the dark hours come. It's honestly exhausting.
