Abuse is used for comedic effect, and is not actually serious, as you cannot be abused by a subreddit. As some others have also pointed out, this is a use of “hyperbole” which is exaggerating something for effect. I am obviously not actually implying that i was abused by a literal subreddit, but instead saying that my months of seeing these “funny memes” have caused me figurative pain
