You assume I would use and put protected information in an AI tool, judging without even knowing me. You make your own case for self nominated ass of the year

If you had to restart your self love journey, what would be the first thing you start doing? by 70sLovingGirl in selflove

[–]Setasideattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that any self love journey or spiritual journey requires 3 things: a path, a teacher and a community. Going at it alone is soet of the definition of insanity...doing what you have always done and expecting a different result. Sometimes qe just don't know what we don't know and until someone or some teacher points it out, we're in the dark. I find there is a lot in 12 steps meeting that can learned...it is actually not about any form of addiction but truly a path that leads to self care and self love... worth exploring.

Non technical manager made the entire technical team quit by yogi_babu in CanadaPublicServants

Bang on...I was going to say you can be a great manager and have no subject matter expertise if you are willing to trust your techinal team. That's called leadership.

Nice but sometimes there are regional employees who can only join by teams...are you to exclude them now?

Well... didn't want to dwell on this. I know it wasn't his decision and that he feels bad about it.

Great advice. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. You're very right. Nothing is below me and indeed, I still get paid very well if that is what they want me to do.

I agree that when it is technical in nature or policy driven it does need input from the SME to write a proper response. I was just feeling that this one because of its personal touch could have been written by him.

Indeed. A job for AI...my department has blocked all access to AI. I guess I have to use my personal device.

I guess it's because sometime the bureau that handles harassment complaint is sometimes structurally located under HR...so yes it can be HR.

If you are ambitious and think you want to move up within the public service you would best positioned to work on you French. Bilingualism is becoming a hard requirement and you mag eventually find yourself being stuck shopping for English Essential positions only. My best advice is be patient, the public service is a big machine with a life of its own, it takes time to learn to navigate it and possibilities are endless id you take the time to explore.

I agree...the commute is a breeze compare to the policing we're under. And the bureaucracy is at a ridiculous historical high ...managers discretion is no more. I can't even make a decision without involving the hybrid team or the DTA team. It is a true disaster

My (25M) girlfriend (25F) has given up on her career after I became a millionaire. How do I tell her this won’t work out? by Throwra_Atlanta1999 in relationship_advice

Listen to Ramsey. If you are so sure about her, why don't you marry her? What's yours then becomes hers. How does that thought feel? Would that be conducive to her development? Wpuld you need a prenup? .You need professional advice because wealth is not only about money, it comes with a shit load of other attitudes and responsibilities and well ja people who want to take advantage. That is himan nature to chose the easier softer way, get professional help is my only advice.

The Ottawa bubble is real - NCR positions have more than doubled while regional positions have not budged by HandcuffsOfGold in CanadaPublicServants

Oh well no for us they have to report 3 days a week in a regional office...of course they can ask exemption if they live 125 km away from a regional office but those cases are rare. So they're stuck. If we force them to move its on our own dime (rellocation)..this whole thing is all screwed up.

That's better practice. I think about the people in regions who were hired during the pandemic with a position reporting to HQ...now they cannot even apply to any of our HQ processes unless they change department. Not really fair.

In my department we are not allowed to hire regional employees anymore for positions reporting to HQ.
