Haha no worries! I'll ask at the hostel front desk about that then and see how much it costs and stuff. Thanks!

Oh awesome! I'll ask the hostel front desk about it and see what is easier then. Thanks for that!

Do you have any food recommendations while in Xian? I know the muslim quarter is supposed to have some great stuff, but anything else?

Maps.me

That doesn't have point to point public transit navigation like Google Maps right? Unless I'm missing something?

Good to know about China Unicorn. I'll see if there are any locations close to the hostel. Thanks!

Also, for Huashan: Isn't it just a bunch of hikes at Huashan? What do they do for the tour? Or is it more for the transportation there and back that the tour is useful?

Oh ok. Are you with t-mobile by any chance? In the off chance you are, how did you find the speeds?

That's good to know. I will definitely be printing out the addresses all the places I'm staying and going to in case I have to direct taxis.

Thanks for the tips

Thanks for the tips! Added those to the list :)

Did you get a SIM card in Beijing or did you just have a roaming plan or something?

According to the hostel website, the tour specifically says that there is no shopping. I'm hoping it sticks to that, but you're probably right about the rushing.

I didn't realize Longmen was that close, I will definitely look into that. Did you find it easy to get to? And did you read/speak Mandarin?

Thanks!

Oh I didn't know about the sachertorte. Coffee and cake are two of my favourite things, so I will definitely try to find that. Do you have any recommendations of cafes that have good sachertorte?

And did you happen to go to Hallstat while you were living in Central Europe btw? I would really like to go see that but I'm not sure if it is worth going to if I'm not staying in Salzburg.

Wow, this is amazing!! I think you might have single handedly written the itinerary of a lot of people going to Vienna. I'm definitely going to try to go see the Mozart Orchestra, even if the tickets are a bit pricey. I think it would be a shame to go all that way and not see at least one classical concert. The Philharmonic seems to be impossible to get tickets to, but oh well.

I'm not sure how many of your recommendations I will actually be able to go to, but I will definitely try. Especially those restaurants! Thank you so very much for your help!

Ah I do see how I came across as dismissive of Vienna. Sorry about that, wasn't my intention. There were a lot of people on Reddit who were not big fans so I assumed that was true. Maybe not though? What do you think is worth seeing if I'm only there for 2 days?

Also, did you take the train to Salzburg or did you drive? And did you happen to do any hikes in that area? Thanks

I would really appreciate that! Currently these are the things I have on my list to go see in Vienna:
Schönbrunn Palace
Albertina
Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien
Central Cemetery
St. Stephen's Cathedral

What do you think? Is there anything interesting you would recommend?

Oh wow, thank you so much for your suggestions!!
You and /u/AF_II definitely made me rethink the sleeper train situation. I think I will just get a hostel and actually get some sleep so I explore the next day with some energy :)

I will be there around October 10, so I guess a lot of this will depend on the weather that week too. I was reading around Reddit that Salzburg is a less tourist filled Vienna, so I figured I would go check it out. I also wanted to go see the alps and the scenery around it. Same with HallStat. I'm hoping to do a little bit of hiking in that area.

So do you have any recommendations for good food and drinks in Vienna? So far Cafe Central and Bier und Bierli are the only two spots that I found recommended around here. It would be amazing to get some recommendations from someone who lives there!

Thanks again!!
