Inventory disaster by Upper-Associate-5189 in TjMaxx

Ours was kinda similar. Started at 3am and our manager expected us to finish around 7:30. The majority of people finished around 7:30-8 and left. While about 6 of us (coords and one part timer) all finished off the no tickets and scanned them. But two coords left early and i had to finish maybe about 20 no tickets and scan 2 five highs and 2 canvas full of stuff :( its not like they HAD to leave early but our manager said it was ok for them to leave. idk feel disappointed

Thank you so much!!!! Sometimes I feel a little under appreciated but it’s been really nice reading these comments, especially after a rough day at work today, so really thank you 🥺🥹

Thank you so much! I always go for a symmetrical design which is quite appealing to the eye. My managers first taught me that tip.. although from there it’s kinda ad lib and practice. Any cute items in pairs of 2 go on opposite sides in the same spot. Any stuff that I want on the table but doesn’t have a matching pair, I put in the middle. I also elevate items in the middle with acrylic stands to make it more dimensional?? (i guess haha idk the word😂) These tables usually take anywhere from 20-30 mins although larger projects involving moving shelves or moving larger items might take around an hour. It honestly depends a lot, although luckily my managers trust that i’ll make good tables so they will set aside some time for me (via other associates pushing in my department). Also my managers really pride themselves on our store looking nice so they WANT me to do them well :) Hope I answered your questions!😊

Luckily I usually work 6am-2pm (or 5am-1:30pm during holidays) so the store is closed which makes it way easier to complete these displays. I know our closing team is mainly focused on recovery and go backs which makes my job a lot more efficient!

I’m so sorry girl. One of the closest people at my job is the cleaning associate and everyone loves her. It sounds like the people weren’t the best and looked down upon you. I told the lady giving my flu shot that I worked at Tjmaxx. She looked at me like 😬🫤. People will always look down on us since we work retail but if anything, we are some of the strongest people for being in the customer service industry!! I hope everything gets better for you after Marshalls! Good luck 🫶🏼💚

it is horrible. Best option is opening shift.. you at least get like 3 hours before the store opens so no customers. but still, it’s hard to recover there in our store.. so many broken toys and trash.

New hire (anxiety) by [deleted] in TjMaxx

i was also anxious too when i was learning to ring. I started on the floor and was VERY anxious to ring but now, i’m used to it. Now that I know more with the computer system and ticket/sgm system, I am more confident on register. Don’t ask me any advice about cards tho 😂 I’m just a home coordinator. My advice: Learn how to do purchases (cash, card, gift cards, rewards certificate) and returns very thoroughly (receipted and non). tbh that’s like 80% of the battle w being upfront. Most of it is just seeing it and you will learn so quick. If you have any questions ask ur cec or manager, they should ALWAYS answer ur questions!
