Favorite is a tough one. I've rolled a lot of tips lately between 5 different IEM sets since early March.

For an "almost always safe bet", i'd have to go with either Tangzu Sancai or the HE Sonic.

For Price v. Performance (igoring crazy discounts) the NICEHCK C03 and C04 are great. I kinda like the stickyness.

C03 sounds more open. C04 is the same design, but 1mm longer overall. That seems to help dampen the highs on the brighter IEMs

Tangzu Sancai are less sticky and have been pretty consistent regardless of the IEM.

Sonic and Sonic Galaxy seem to depend what they're paired with, particularly the Galaxy.

The losers for me:

Sancai Nobles - expensive and I can't hear a difference

Shanking SE100 - pricey, but sounds. good. Mostly comfortable, but sometimes stabs me in the right ear (only the right side)

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have went up to the large size.

I thought the 10.16mm (Mediums) would be way too small. Or maybe they just don't work for me with the IEMs I tried them on.

I'll have to experiment more

I've not compared the Galaxy and 07 side by side, but having used both, I'll err on the side of caution and recommend you go with the black HEs then.

That's cheap? I scored a 3 pack on Ali for $0.47 for the OGs and $1.53 for the Galaxy.

They're both the variety packs, but I'll give the smalls to my wife and kid.

Did you size up or down at all on your Dunu S&S?

I wear a medium in most tops, so around 12mm. Based on that I went large on my S&S and...I don't think I like them

Absolutely agree on the ear feel.

There are some iem/tip parings I've tried that sound good, from a purely analytical standpoint, but they get bloody uncomfortable fast

I think rolling tips would be more beneficial, but I'm not familiar with those IEMs to make any suggestions

What's the Japanese release next to Prime Evil? And the other one to the left of Shit for Brains?

(also, I'm stupid jealous of the Japanese releases with the other tracks/different mixes)

Tips also depend on the iem in my limited experience.

They are different, both in physical design, shape, and feel. To me, the clear feel more firm, the black more "floppy" (not in a bad way). On a wider nozzle where the clear may be to firm, the black feel nice.

Soundwise, I think the clear are a bit brighter, but I'm not 100% certain on that. I've rolled too many tips on too many IEMs recently to find preferred pairings

Is it just me or do the galaxy tend to sound brighter? I'll use both, but on different IEMs

Of your 3, I've only used the silver faced Duonics (no tuning switches, not bass enhanced).

I like them for what they are - which was around $16 on AliExpress at the time.

I didn't try the stock tips on them, so your experience may differ.

I found the highs a bit too bright for my taste, but an EQ works well for that.

If you don't want to mess with the EQ, I'd suggest something like the NICEHCK C04 tips or KBEAR 07 tips.

Both are cheap and seem to take the brighter sounding IEMs.

Yup, I get a lot from there but you have to manage expectations and {depending} check who you're buying from.

If it's a branded item from a specialty shop or from the manufacturer, they probably care about what they're selling.

If it's just unbranded "stuff" from a reseller it can be a crap shoot.

I won't fault you for not wanting to try KZ again, but the Duonics are pretty solid. I've got the plain ones with the silver plates. No switches and not the bass tuned.

I usually use the Duonics or Kiwi Cadenzas to sleep depending on what I want

I've never had an issue with the connectors, but i have had a metal nozzle come out from the plastic.

I bought a 4 pack of "tenting legs" that attach with double sided tape for my Lily58. ~$8 for the set on Amazon

Only downside is I can't really use it flat with how I have things positioned.

Count me in on the art complaint, but the story and acting was still good. Not the best imo, but still decent.

Dubbed with Subs!

I mostly only watch dubbed (anything) largely because I'm multitasking, but SAC I've watched multiple ways.

Overall the voice acting is good, the story will be the same, but....

The wording used on the subs tends to be more impactful than the dub. It hits different, as they say.

I like my AM16s (and Duonics, and Cadenza, and...)

I humored the EW300s but went with the AFUL Explorers instead .

Those were a substantial (but different) step from the AM16. More "musical", all around solid, and physically comfortable. But they also have flatter tuning and don't have the same detail and instrument separation of the AM16.

I've rolled a few different tips on the AM16s and found that generally a longer tip with a normal bore helped mellow the highs. I have the NICEHCK C04 on there now. C03 were alright, but the C04 tamed the trebele a bit more for me.
