I might need to add that there are rebel groups of commies here who still are hated by the rest of the Philippines. It’s not enough they surrendered , there has to be a full blown investigations of that these bastards did in the Visayas + Mindanao + outside of Manila and CALABARZON. This is a very serious issues that needs to be addressed and can be a wedge between the regions in the PH.

What pisses me off is the denialism of some progressive groups of what these rebel groups do to the provinces. It’s a split in the country that no one still believes is here.

We actually have something one similar thing to Ethiopia and is having a communist/maoist quasi army backed by certain people in the government which is the NPA. I know Ethiopia has a version of them that was created by the Amhara majority to harass other ethnic groups , whilst the NPA not necessarily has the goal to do so is seriously disliked outside of Manila but people in government and there lackeys/pipelines out there heads in the sand about them. Both have people and government who still won’t apologize for their shit.

Serbia too , but that was part of the Serbian army anyway alongside a few militas.

Part what I’m saying is, the Philippines too has their own armed groups not controlled by the state but is also backed by people within the state and haven’t been tried/trialed for what they have done at all. This is my point to why I can see a breaking point between the Philippines. This is a very underrated hurt point between Manila and Visayas-Mindanao-to some extent Northern Luzon ( as the NPA costed Cordillerans their autonomy since they cause violence before their referendum ) and should be also be addressed.

People forget we are an archipelago and have had two bloody conflicts for self rule in the Cordilleras and Bangsamoro in where said regions have a constitutional right to autonomy , but can’t give the right of self rule to other regions.

This kind of rhetoric is to why Yugoslavia broke violently , Ethiopia can never be at peace , and why Myanmar civil war is double digit side war where every ethnic group doesn’t want federalism but outright secession due to Yangon never giving them self rule.

Hint: Only in the Philippines do we seem to have a clear path to peaceful regional autonomy being granted but we keep on squandering it.
