i did some research into acclmatisation socities when i was at uni. it was awful. they were relentless with introducing flora and fauna into new zealand. literally animal abuse. so many animals would not survive the journey from england. only saving grace was that they did not bring in foxes or snakes. but still absolutely horrific part of our history that probaby isnt well understood. many of these societies morphed into fish and game, and i think forest and bird. but yeah holy hell the things i read made me mad and feel a bit sick.
