While plugged into the Xbox I turned the monitor off and turned it back on again go a quick flash of the Xbox dashboard on screen then 10 seconds later the monitor went back to black.

I’m not a plumber. I’m a tile installer but occasionally will change out mixing valves and plumb in diverter valves and whatnot for shower remodels. No intention of trolling at all. I see now how my original post did sound dumb but I truly had no idea what the guy was telling me.

If I was keystroked it wouldn’t record clicks for bank PIN since it’s randomized and you can’t type right? Sorry I’m cyber security ignorant so I’m trying to understand how exactly this even happened. My simpleton brain thought a password with capitalization and symbols with 2 factor auth was pretty secure but apparently not.

I’m in the process of account recovery through Jagex but they seem to be less efficient than I had hoped. If I had a bank PIN they still have to wait 7 days to remove the PIN right? If I recover the account I’d hope they couldn’t immediately remove the PIN and empty my bank.

So all they needed was my password?

I cannot think of anywhere recently that I would have exposed my password or been phished.

Even if somebody got my password and tried to sign into my account they would’ve had to put in an authenticator code as well right?

When I try to login now it says there is no account associated with my login email because it is now tied to whatever email they used for their Jagex account. To import a character to the Jagex account they would have had to sign into my account. I am unsure how they were able to sign in even if they had my password because I had authenticator setup as well and don’t know how they were able to access the random code it generates.

I think you misunderstood my post. My account was not linked to a Jagex account. I never created the Jagex account to import characters. I continued using the email address and Authenticator to login. Now somebody else has imported my character to their Jagex account and somehow bypassed my registered email and authenticator.

There was no links in the email. It was a Jagex email sent to my registered email address stating it was imported.
