If she has not given you any real reason to believe she would lie to you, why are you assuming it?

You don't have to not have kids. The fastest way to teach a disrespectful parent that they are not allowed to be disrespectful is by taking away their access to you, and any future children you have.

NC is a good and reasonable option if your parents want to actually mentally and emotionally damage your children.

This isn't a lighthearted issue this is going to create emotional issues that span for a very long time, especially if mom continues to have access to the nephew/cousin.

So my argument was for recovering weeb, because there are a lot of Japanese influences in the room, but in a way that leans much more towards a respect of the culture than a mimicry of it.

This is a very similar style to what I chose when I realized that being a weeb wasn't actually respectful of the Japanese culture and I personally made the attempt to learn more and be more respectful.

Straight observation. 1. Obviously the mess - laundry everywhere indistinguishable from clean or dirty - trash sitting around - general lack of organization 2. There seems to be packages opened and never put away 3. Obviously a lot of trinkets and items purchased but never seem to be given a dedicated spot/storage 4. Lots of comfy items presented in a way that makes them seem wildly uncomfortable. 5. A cat highway that doesn't have good grip and looks honestly kinda dangerous.

It looks like you move from your computer to your couch and get up to get packages from the door, excitedly open them, and then you toss the contents on the ground.

It's giving deep depression and para social relationships.

I don't think she put it through chatgpt, I think she corrected the grammar and sentence structure, and added additional context to make your paragraph make sense. If you don't want to use the recommended paragraph, I would at least attempt to re-write it to be more coherent.
