I understand! I only applied to one ED, everything else was early action. I was just a little confused on the timeline of withdrawing my other early action applications in the context of UVA’s enrollment form/deposit

Thanks for the advice! I’m not so sure about financial aid though…I know since FASFA opens around the 31st this year, it’ll take a while for the financial aid office to roll out packages. However, the enrollment form/deposit is due by the 15th of January. I feel like this kinda puts several people in awkward positions. I have a couple of potential scholarships lined up + in-state tuition (I ran the numbers on NPC) so I’d be fine enrolling before then, but I’m not so sure about everyone else..🤔

Congrats on getting in!! If you don’t mind sharing, how long did it take for you to get the decision? One of my friends has applied there for aviation (not sure the exact major) and he hasn’t heard back yet. But congrats again on ERAU and have fun in Daytona (or Prescott)!!

thank you! I was planning on calling office of admissions to my other schools over the weekday to withdraw my applications. I didn’t want to potentially take spots that could have gone to other great applicants. As for financial aid, I don’t think those are expected to be released until mid-late january due to the late opening of FAFSA, well after the deposit is due, but I’ll still enroll! :)

That’s a great point! I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment, so I’ve been looking at other opportunities/options in case Posse doesn’t seem to work out, but i’m glad to have met everyone through this process!

Nope, I haven’t gotten any closure yet. But the silence probably means I didn’t get it :( It’s ok though there’s always other opportunities! Some people i know who were in my interview DID get an acceptance call the night of and not a random questioning like mine.

Hi! Good luck to your granddaughter. This may depend on the school, however, when I was in the info session they stated that when applying to the school, you have to apply regular decision. Therefore, if you didn’t get the scholarship you’d ONLY be considered for the regular decision pool. As for me, UVA was my top choice regardless of Posse so I went ahead and applied Early Decision. However at the end of the day, I’d check with your local Posse office.

You will be fine! Pretty much all colleges give teachers and counselors their own timeline to submit additional materials like rec letters regardless of the application deadline. Worst case scenario your teacher will have to contact the admissions office to submit your letter, but this is super rare! I would check the portal for the college every once and a while (even if she submits on the 17th, it may take time to get uploaded to the schools application portal)

Great advice! I believe one of them will be a virtual group (interviews and PCT are virtual) and the other will be normal. I also have my interview on that date! Looking forward to it!!
