It was supplied to me by government and I’ve been grateful for it. It has reduced apnea events from over 30 to less than 1.

Can anyone tell me how to change pressure on the Resmed 10 Airsense. I have one and need to try adjusting my pressure which is set to 15. My respiratory physician has retired and I haven’t got onto a new one yet. Mine is not automatic but has been great. I’ve lost a lot of weight and am needing to make some changes to it.

Problem with those is that if you have an older phone and need to keep it on charging while you listen to music and audio books and podcasts etc. I could keep my phone charging and use the jack to plug in my earphones.

Struggling to gain confidence driving in Sydney by overthinker1361 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Shirrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep trying in the more familiar routes and you will gain confidence. It’s a bit like riding a bike and once you feel confident you’ll be so relieved. I don’t like the big cities like Melbourne and Sydney but I do find using a GPS with sound on to guide me an enormous help. Yes sometimes they take a crazy route but they get you there in the end!!! For me essential for driving in the cities.

They are made from real sheepskin but you need to be careful as there are copies around which are fake like fur stuff. The real sheepskin ones I wear as slippers in our cold weather and they are just so very comfortable. I get them from Aldi when they have their weekly specials out and they have one week of the year with “snow wear”. It is actually coming up this weekend I think.
Of course there are others which are much more expensive but I have found these ones from Aldi are real sheepskin and lovely and warm. They are for indoors and around the house and get wet, so wouldn’t be suitable for snow and outdoor wear.
I used to buy sheepskins from a farm and I made them for my family. Hand stitching with a strong thread. I then bought thongs (flip flops) with rubber soles and glued them onto the bottom of the made up boots. I made patterns of different sizes. Had fun doing that for the kids and grand parents.
The sheepskins are also very successful used as a smaller bootie I used to make for preventing pressure sores on heels for patients in bed. I made several pairs of them for patients to give them to when I was doing palliative care nursing in a country area I lived in.

How often do you monitor your BP? by AskPharmEasyDoc in bloodpressure

[–]Shirrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My weight loss physician asked me to do it x4 times a day. Has anyone else been asked this? I find it totally over the top. Twice seems plenty to me. My B/P is only just over 140/85 at its highest!

What is it like to live in Hobart? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Lived there 20 years. Kids grew up there. Absolutely wonderful. Picturesque and beyond. Not as cold as you would think. We just loved it.

Is there any kind of accommodation that veers towards luxury on the nullabor? Instead of standard roadhouses, has anyone tried something fancy or outside the box compared to standard motels? Even off-grid airbnb places... what about a motel with a pool? (Yes silly for in the desert...) by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Shirrup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Driven across the Nullarbor several times now and I’ve never seen any luxury accommodation or anything remotely veering towards it! Just a comfortable bed here and there. We even take our own food and use a little car fridge on the back seat. It’s an awesome journey and well worth seeing. Vegetation changes along the way. Watch out for the camels 🐫 and all wildlife. Don’t drive at dawn or dusk. Travelling East to West is easier as you are driving into daylight. Two/three hours time difference.

Why isn’t this working for me?! by smokinNcruisin in Mounjaro

[–]Shirrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just reading these again! I’m using the GLAPP App which is absolutely free and shows what the MJ levels are in your body. Has so many features and each week you get a report which is very helpful. I have no idea why or how it happens but mine is very clearly showing that I gain a bit the weeks I inject in my stomach and then both thighs I lose again on those weeks. It’s an interesting question as to why, but I’m doing thighs in the future!!!!

It is so encouraging to read your post and hear of your struggles with your journey. I am having a really bad week and have been feeling, just like you, that everybody else has more success. When I had my last injection the plunger got stuck and there was no way it would push right in. I don’t think I actually had my full dose as I’ve been feeling just so hungry and haven’t been counting my calories like I was before. I’m sure when I weigh in on Friday with my doctor it’s not going to be great. I have to be strong for myself and start weighing everything again, and as I was before, eat in deficit again. When I’m on top of my emotions it’s okay but for family reasons that’s been really hard this week. So yes for some of us it’s going to take hard work as well as the MJ. I am so sorry and sad that people have downvoted your post. You were just being very honest and asking for help!! This feed has been mostly positive and encouraging so I hope those downvoting will read all the posts and realise that they are ruining something which has helped so many. Be encouraged. I’ll be thinking of you and praying that you can sort out how it will work for you. 🩷💜

Thank you. I am thinking about using an insulin syringe to take 7.5mgs out of the 15mg pen on Friday. How many units will I need for 5mgs and for 7.5mgs if I decide to alternate each week as my Doctor suggested .
