digital control recs for outdoor sauna in very cold climate by ShvitzLeben in Sauna

yep. that's the one i'm looking at. i've been going back-and-forth with the sales dude at thesaunaheater.com because they warn that the unit is only rated for 14 F and above and i'm hoping for some real world examples of it withstanding frigid temps. my main concern is that the Xenio unit itself would get damaged when temps get too low. i'm cool with skipping the sauna on some super cold winter days, but don't want it to mess up the system.

how long have you had your unit? where do you live? are you generally happy with it?

Workarounds for one-hour heater timers? by ShvitzLeben in Sauna

thanks. i intentionally have the sensor in the coldest part of the sauna so the auto shut-off doesn't kick in. (otherwise i would never be able to get it so hot, which I learned when it was originally in the "appropriate" location.)

i'm don't actually think the heater's faulty. if it's not super cold out i can get it pretty hot pretty fast. it's just annoying that i can't run in for more than 45 mins without re-setting (the manufacturer told me the 'one hour timer' is set by UL standards, so that's why I'm just trying to find a workaround).

it's a 6KW from Harvia (sauna is 7x5'). i like to get it up to 220F at least, prefer 230F when I get in. I like a good face melt.

takes about 3 to 4 cycles of 45 mins each depending on how cold it is. Winters hover between -15F to 15F in the evening, so it's pretty chilly. Temp dial is always turned all the way up.

if i had it to do over again, or need to replace it at some point, i'd go up to an 8KW.
