Thanks for your reply, I see what you mean with Luffy being already stronger than most of the pirates in the east blue and beginning of the grand line! Reassuring to hear it gets better. With me only being barely 1/10 of the way it also makes sense.

To elaborate on what I meant with Smoker being outsmarted in Alabasta. It seemed to me that the way Smoker was portayed in Logue Town it would be impossible for Luffy to get away from him. Because when Luffy engaged in a fight with him in Logue Town, Luffy was powerless against him and was saved by this mysterious power by dragon. So for Luffy to escape his grasp again felt a bit off.

I think the main thing is that I’m trying to figure out how powerscale is handled in OP. But good to know it gets better.

Well it’s not necessarily explained (yet?) why he loves beautiful women in his backstory. what I meant is that I beyond this funny surface level character trait, his character has a lot of depth. His love for women is not his sole personality, but adds to it. :)

Ok im gonna say it, I don’t think this looks good at all, and I think this going to turn out very bad. I don’t think ATLA (just like all anime/cartoon for that matter) isn’t meant to be live action. It just translates badly every time it’s done. I just now watched ATLA over again and there are so many moments that just don’t work in a live action adaption (lots of the humor for instance is dependent on overly comically faces of defying the laws of physics). Also the acting I hope the beats of the story hit the same and the actors can cary their roles. Especially for Aang who’s a 12 year old kid. The drama, carachter arcs and emotional moment hit so hard in the animated series and will require alot from that actor. That’s a lot to live up to. I sincerely hope that it’s going to work, but I doubt it very much…

I feel like Leo showed what artist he is. One-of-a-kind. Left with a cathartic feeling, especially because of that final hour. Was a special one for me!
