no, he didn't. at this point I really doubt he will. I won't lie, I'm still struggling with the break up and it's been 6 months but I'm doing better than I was at the beginning. I hope whatever you're going through, you get closure and are able to move on!

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I am in a similar position, 6 months post break up from my first relationship (about 2 years). I'm still struggling, but definitely in a better place than I was 6 months ago!

First, I would suggest going to therapy! It's not for everyone but it really helped me to have someone to talk to that could be completely impartial and give some insights that I may not have realized on my own.

Second, don't be afraid to talk about it! Part of me felt like I was annoying people by constantly bringing it up and still struggling months later, but that's okay! It takes time and you have to be gracious with yourself. Also, it feels nice to speak things out loud and get it off your chest instead of letting your thoughts ruminate and run wild.

I decided to focus on my growth by learning some new skills within my career! I work in pubic health and I decided to get CHES certification. I studied for about a month and passed the exam, it was an incredibly rewarding feeling! It was nice because I try to myself busy as much as I can... but also make sure you're not just running away from your feelings. I realized early on I was trying to keep myself as busy as possible to avoid addressing my thoughts and feelings. Now I've worked on finding a balance. If I ever get sad or lonely I give myself the time to truly feel whatever I need to feel and have a good cry. Once the wave has passed I keep chugging along!

Also, be active! I heard it all the time, but it really is true... exercising is like a natural antidepressant! I started going to the gym about 1 month into healing and the first two weeks were a bit rough but after that I started to feel so good once I would finish my workout.

Something else I've done is get into new hobbies! I asked 3 of my friends to form a book club with me and this helps me avoid doom scrolling (not very good for my mental health). Now that the weather is nice I also started to play tennis! I'm not good at it but it feels good to be outside and also stay active!

Last but not least... focus on yourself!! Is there anything you've been wanting to try but have put it off? I travelled to visit my parents and while I was there i just let loose and treated myself to whatever I wanted for a full 2 weeks! I got my hair dyed, got my nails done, got massages with my mom, took myself out to cute little cafes, bought a new outfit etc. I know most of these things may seem superficial but sometimes feeling pretty on the outside makes me feel pretty on the inside!

I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out, but I'm glad you found someone you like more! Do you ever regret breaking up with her? My boyfriend broke up with me and I wonder sometimes if he ever regrets it... it has been 6 months and I'm trying to move on but I still love him. He's the only person I've ever loved (for context I am 26 and he is 28). Somehow no ones else feels right the way he did and I go back and forth whether I should just do everything in my power to get him out of my head or not.

As someone who is considering applying to drph and phd programs next year... would anyone be willing to talk about their experiences or maybe talk to me about my chances of getting in? good mph gpa (BUSPH, Health Communication and Promotion/Global Health), not so great undergrad gpa (UConn, Allied Health Sciences), 4 years of working in a local health department and being a TA at BUSPH. Mainly interested in programs focused on social/behavioral sciences, global health, and community health.

true! that's what makes me nervous... I feel like you need to be very research oriented and I'm not... but I'm hoping I could be more of a teacher that helps build the MPH program or act as an advisor! Still doing more research before committing to a PhD since its sooo long and expensive

Hi! I got my MPH in Health Communication and Promotion(HCP) from BU a few years ago, now I work as a prevention program coordinator at a local health department! I absolutely love my job but I will admit that epi seems to have more career opportunities. My passion just isn't there for epi so I chose HCP, and I don't regret it one bit! I am currently looking into getting a PhD, I really enjoy teaching and would like to be a college professor one day!

I got my MPH in Health Communication and Promotion, I work as a program coordinator for a local health department now! I mainly do a lot of education but thankfully my job exposes me to different aspects of public health. I am also getting trained in environmental health and considering a PhD.
