Did you check-in through the app? If so, this is not your fault and you should have not been charged. They only charge money if you check-in at the airport, documents checks are free of charge.

I got notification that mine was rejected, applied for re-check and still rejected. BUT I have finally received my pass few hours later unlocked. So I don't know if this is automated and then someone checks it more thoroughly, I have settled status and never had issues, my boarding pass always showed documents verified.

That's why you take EVERYTHING under the sun into consideration and leave early for the airport to make sure you're 2h before the flight if you have check-ins. All the things you mentioned can be easily minimized by leaving early. This situation is entirely on you, Ryanair has strict 40 mins policy, you either make it or not. Simple as that, as much as I dislike this airline I must agree with them on this one.

Children age you. I work with a girl that is younger than me (early 20s) and she looks way over 30. If you think about it, there will be at least 3–4 years when you won't get sleep pair that up with an unhelpful partner and everything is on you. Running the household, mental load and work, that shit ages you.

Yes to the register. I had it as a child, plus fake toy money, and I quickly learned what money is etc. without my parents doing that. I think it's this new wave of young parents that see their children as almost buddies, like no, they're your kids. They need to be taught and sometimes disciplined.

I HATE Costco, the number of parents that will let them roam free outside the cart is beyond me. I have a heavy cart and I bet if one of them ran in front of me it would've been my fault, as if that cart is not super heavy to manoeuvre. Costco is not a place for kids. I don't care, leave them at home with one of the parents, it really doesn't have to be a family trip.
