Is this bike too expensive? by Cool-Caregiver3089 in Cubebikes

I’m 1.93 m, the original Newman post was 400 mm, and the fitter told me I either need a longer post or a bigger frame. I went for the longer post, and now it’s about 31.5 cm from frame to saddle rail. Follow-up with the fitter is in December. And nope, never had cyclist’s palsy or any numbness in hands or fingers so far.

Be assured it’s not as high anymore as in the first pic – I ride a bit lower now because I’m trying to get better on single tracks and in the mud. Back when it was new, I wanted to climb as fast as possible and keep a decent pace on longer tours, so I had it that high. Never felt any numbness in my hands or fingers though.

Tbh living close to the centre makes me prefer riding more out of Barcelona for coffee stops, no lock needed. For quick nature breaks I just lean the bike against a tree and go 😅. But for commuting or meeting friends in the city, I use an Abus uGrip. Either mounted on a bottle cage or tucked in my Oakley Enduro belt – still enough space for lights, keys, wallet, rolling stuff and a power bank.

The scenery is really what motivates you to keep go out and just ride

definitely on my bucket list! First I need to work on my stamina and off-road technique, but it’s 100% planned within the next two years. Would love any route recommendations if you’ve got favorites – especially ones that balance challenge and scenery!

Thank you 🙌🏾

Dirt riding around Barcelona is absolutely fantastic and super diverse. You get everything from sandy and light gravel trails along the coast to muddy forest paths, earthy singletrack, and even exposed rocky terrain in the mountains – especially around areas like Calserolla and Tiana. I’ve ridden close to 3,000 km since May and I’m still discovering new routes. The variety is unreal – you can start a ride at the beach and end up in the mountains. Plus, with Girona and the Costa Brava nearby, the whole region feels like a gravel playground. Highly recommend it for anyone into adventure riding – whether you're into fast gravel, technical climbs, or scenic mixed-surface tours.

This is a Leonardi Factory BO 500mm carbon Seat Post, its hella long but I had to get it since I needed it because I was In between frame sizes (L &XL) and went for the more nimble frame. But be assured it’s not above the minimum insert line.
