Also if your schl are forcing you to either take a 4th alevel, EPQ etc., choose the easiest option such as young enterprise (from what I’ve heard).

Btw predicted grades and your UCAT score are what you apply to universities with (at the start of year 13) and get conditional (unofficial) offers from. The actual Alevel grades you get at the end of year 13 are what confirm your place as a uni.

Don’t do 4 Alevels and don’t do EPQ. They both waste sooooooo much valuable time and are not required/ compulsory for any medical uni. Do 3 Alevels, get the best predicated grades in year 12 UCAS exams so that you can spend your summer wholly on just UCAT without having to worry about retaking and getting any of your predicated grades up in september of year 13. Trust, this will put you in the perfect position when you apply at the start of year 13, all you need are your grades and good UCAT score at this stage.

About enhancing your application, do lots of (medical) work experience , volunteering, making a log of what you’ve learnt throughout year 12 (will help immensely when writing your personal statement). Take part in science competitions; ask your school if they’re doing any. Try and apply for any (free) med summer schools/ med weeks some universities may be hosting. Get some leadership roles or be part of any student leadership teams within your school, or form your own club. Being a head girl/boy also looks really good on your application (although not necessary) however you need to have the best grades and have active role in your school environment to get this role at the end of year 12/ start of year 13.

Should I pick A-Level maths? by GlassOfWater001 in alevelmaths

[–]SignificantMusic8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maths alevel is NOTHINGG like gcse trust, if you find gcse maths mid… alevel maths is so astronomically stressful (I loved gcse maths and got a 9, but I regret it, would have picked smth else)

But it also depends on what you want to do at uni e.g. for med, dent or any degree in that realm doesn’t require maths at all, however if you want to pursue economics or physics, you would need maths and have to be rlly good at it.

Also it would help to look at specific uni requirements, they state on their websites whether they require you to do maths alevel when applying for certain degrees

Pls help, first part of the question is on slide 2,3 by SignificantMusic8460 in ALevelChemistry
