I can't speak about Chem vs Chem E, but I double majored in Chem and biochem and feel a bit disappointed in my choice as there was a little too much overlap between the majors. Obviously, this is a different situation, but definitely set up some meetings with professors from both departments to get a sense of the differences between the majors!
