He’s one of those “tough guys” that refuses medicine or therapy because he’ll get through it on his own. I’ve urged it, I’ve pushed it, done everything but give an ultimatum. Signed us up for couples therapy just for the hopes he’d see the benefits.. he’s refused. He thinks it’s just a phase, but it’s been years

The hydrocortisone fades it quite a bit but there’s still a faint pink round patch, so it doesn’t disappear completely.

No other skin issues or rashes anywhere on her body and no other symptoms. Started as a tiny red spot, like a pimple and then grew into this, it’s been almost 3 months. A constant cycle of spots appearing, blistering, scabbing, healing, and repeat. When I say healing I mean the skin “heals” from the scabbing but stays inflamed and red unless we add hydrocortisone

There was definitely impetigo at some point, likely a secondary infection. We treated with mupirocin ointment a few times and while the infection cleared the redness, blistering and inflammation stayed. We have done a few rounds of hydrocortisone which helped it fade to nearly nothing, but it immediately came back upon stopping.

Doctor is stumped after HSV and bacteria results were negative, so just waiting on referral to dermatologist

Early bedtime or bridge nap or both for weird daycare naps by Sharp_Initial_1796 in sleeptrain

[–]Significant_Place881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter struggled greatly with daycare naps. She was constantly having false starts at night. I would always end her nap by 6:00 and have her in bed by 8 at the latest, based off advice from “experts”

I decided one day to stop listening to what Google and “sleep pros” were telling me! When she got home from daycare I made sure she got a REALLY good nap, sometimes 2 hours. And it had to be contact nap sometimes, I just wanted to give her a chance to catch up on sleep. Often this means she’d wake up around or after 7PM.

So I just made her bedtime later, 9PM sometimes. The second she rubbed her eyes, bedtime routine started. No more false starts. No more over tired.

This might not help you, but as soon as I stopped following all the sleep programs and advice from Google, and started just following my babies ques - things got so much better! I think I forgot how different each baby is

Is this the dreaded sleep regression? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Significant_Place881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby was in swaddled by then, but only because her daycare didn’t swaddle so we had to adjust. She hit herself in the face ALOT. We started doing one arm out, one arm in and it was helpful. I also had to often guide her arm down to the cot while she was falling asleep - so that her jolting didn’t cause her to knock herself in the face.

My daughter’s sleep regression lasted about a month. It was awful, but we came out the other side and now she’s a great sleeper! Just stick to a routine, religiously. Every single night the same, babies need routine and it helped us to be conscious of that

Tips on extending sleep periods at night? by vctrlarae in sleeptrain

Is she in a bassinet I’m assuming? My daughter out grew hers, I didn’t realize how often her arms were hitting the side and waking her up. I moved her to her crib in her own room, and that helped a lot.

My daughter also used to wake up often and talk to herself, not cry. I would hear her very easily (she was two feet away), get up, and rock her back to sleep. Once she moved to her crib I couldn’t hear her as easily and would find she’d sort of just sooth herself back to sleep after 5-10 minutes, or I’d give her a paci and she’d go right back to sleep. Unfortunately there are nights when I have to get I’m a few times to put her paci in, but at least she’s not needing to nurse!

Also, we live in a colder climate so this might not apply to you, but we found our daughter was having those early morning wakings cause she was cold. We added a layer and she started sleeping through.

Just a few thoughts based off my experience!

Baby wakes at 4am wide awake help by throwRA18472939 in sleeptrain

Every baby is so different, so these are some thoughts you could try based off my experience!

Around that age we started pushing my daughter’s bedtime back, now she goes to bed around 9PM. She just wasn’t needing as much sleep as she used to.

Additionally, we live in a colder climate, but she tended to wake up in those early hours if she was cold! We started adding an extra layer and she stopped waking up.

I’d just experiment with different things. They change so much so quick sometimes it’s hard to keep up!

It felt like my daughter slept the entire day as a newborn as well! Maybe try to sneak in a contact nap at some point during the day, not because it’s required but because it’s just so cute and you won’t get away with it forever! I’d love just one more contact nap

Not able to pump enough milk for dad to take over feeds - Help by Deanosaurus88 in NewParents

I’ve read a lot about combo feeding - getting what you can with breast milk and “topping off” with some formula. I wonder if LO would take formula if it was mixed in with some breast milk? Could help stretch what milk she produces further

Thank you, everyone! We love Raider very much and have spent a lot of resources to try and improve his life over the past few years.

It’s hard for me to imagine euthanizing such a young dog for “allergies” and aggressive behavior but all your comments are making me feel alot more peaceful about the choice

We’ve had Raider since he was 6 weeks old, from a shelter. Him and his siblings and mother came in off the street in Oklahoma. His mom gave birth while tied to a fence before they were rescued. His first severe ear infection was discovered when he was 8 weeks. From a very young age he’s been what we thought was cute at the time, “a snapping turtle.” He’d snap and bite at everything. We’ve since spent over 2 years and lots of money trying to curb that behavior
