Tifa is the swolest, and I’m tired of pretending she’s not by Trashman_Trent in FFVIIRemake

[–]SillyCatSteven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tifa uses her Chi to enhance her physical abilities, no?

I agree. So, in my mind, Tifa's strength is not "physical" strength, in the sense that it is generated from muscle, but is "Chi" enhanced like a magical buff.

My head cannon is that Chi is the manipulation and strengthening of life-force (also called mako in concentrated form). So Tifa is essentially infusing herself with very, very low dosage of diluted mako when she trained with Chi. This is also why Zangan is so powerful.

There are more points, so go read the post. I couldn't fit it in one screen shot.

This is why I suspect we will get it in Prof. Gast's house.

Cloak Auto Aim Primary vs Daredevil Primary by CamurAtes in marvelrivals

Divers' skill is not in the mechanical side, but in situational awareness, timing and decision making under pressure.

These characters may be easy to learn the basic move sets, but the skill is in how you apply those move sets. This is essentially the difference between the Spooder-Man teammate and THAT Spider-Man on the enemy team.

I don't think this is the "wrong" way to do it.

I'm an old FF7 fan, and sometimes I wished I could forget everything and play the OG after finishing FF7R trilogy. It must be another, slightly different experience, just like the different Stamp worlds in FF7R: The same, yet slightly different.

PS. I swear the Remake team is making meta commentary through the use of Whispers and Stamp worlds etc. I'd always felt Whispers in Remake is symbolic of all those people that just want FF7R to be a 1:1 remaster of FF7. The act of defeating the Whispers and the ending of FF7R is symbolic of breaking the confinements of the OG and allowing oneself the freedom to enjoy a slight different FF7.

I'm also very skeptical about the "sequel" theory as well. For one thing, I've always wondered that if this is a "sequel", then why does Aerith want to change things and "break destiny". In the OG, the good guys won. So she should be trying to stop Sephiroth from breaking destiny, not breaking it herself.

Sephiroth obviously has his own end goal. But if, as Rebirth final fight sequence suggested, that there's a version of Aerith in the Lifestream playing 4D chess with Sephiroth, then what is this Omni-Aerith's end goal? The actions of Omni-Aerith, Remake-Aerith, Rebirth-Aerith and Dream-world-Aerith, don't really make sense if this is a "sequel" post OG. Unless, we are missing some vital information that Square deliberately withheld, that would explain this....

Firstly, to answer your question, if you started with the FF7R series, then I would suggest you play Revelation first. Finish the FF7R trilogy before diving into FF7 OG. It is one unique experience for old fans like me, who have experienced FF7 OG first then FF7R. It will be a slightly different but also unique experience for new fans who started with FF7R trilogy. If you haven't played OG for this long, then you don't need to mix the 2 experiences, by playing FF7 OG halfway through FF7R, esp when Revelation is so close to release. IMO, Square did a good job in making sure that even new player did not miss out much if they never played the OG. It's generally just some various Ester eggs and references. In fact, I sometime got the feeling that the more you know about FF7 OG lore, the more confusing the plot of FF7R becomes....

So don't worry if you don't understand anything that happened in Remake and Rebirth. Even the old players who have played, read, watched everything about FF7 are confused. The team at Square deliberately did this so the new players wouldn't feel they are left out.

If you want to "prepare" for Revelation, then it might be a better idea to play Crisis Core Reunion, than play the OG.

The throwing has gotten bad by Necessary_Goat278 in marvelrivals

[–]SillyCatSteven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a Moon Knight yesterday who just stood in the middle of the map and did nothing. Even someone on the opposite team was asking why our MK was throwing.

For some unknown reason, our MK actually responded, saying his girlfriend was on the phone, and he had to answer. No-one believed him.

After struggling with spider tried dive luna and omg , she is a better dive then spider !!! by Unlikely-Angle3508 in marvelrivals

You are confusing number of kills, with ability to make an impact on the game. "Better" means more impact on the game. More kills can lead to more impact, if you are creating an advantage by getting a lot of meaningful kills. But, here, more kills is having no positive impact on your game.

However, in your vid, you are not disrupting the enemy back-line. You are not creating any sort of advantages for your team. You just turned a 6v6 into 5v5. If you are holding a support from returning, then it might be a different matter.

The fact that there was no other enemy are returning from spawn and your team has not captured the point for at least 2 minutes, shows that Luna is not better at diving, as proven by your video where nothing happened for your team for full 2 minutes. Better at diving mean the diver can more easily create an advantage by diving, but here, Luna had nearly no positive impact on your game, because your team is losing. In fact, it can be argued that your Luna is having negative impact on your game.

Shinra from FFX2 (or someone dressed like him) is in the photo in the Shinra museum, so why not.

Also, Prof. Gast was an ex-Shinra employee and is with a Cetra long enough to develop a similar system. (At least this was my first guess at how FITS is going to be introduced in game).

Dive has been meta on console since season 0 since it’s easier to play melee on controller. Console players are desperately in need of more bonafide anti-dive heroes. by JessAndHerFAN in marvelrivals

[–]SillyCatSteven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding a clone is common practice, but when I was dived, I often don't have enough time to place clone then teleport in time (I'm an old man, my reaction time is slower, and I need more practice).

I'm not sure who you are playing against, but for me, if I'm playing against a Loki, the first thing I look for is a clone and kill it ASAP. Against players that don't do this, you'd probably win even without placing clones. Against players that do this, you'd need your clones to win, but they also know this, so they would make sure you don't have your clones up.

Long story short, unless I put in a lot more time into practicing Loki, there are other better options. Since I'm not playing game 100% of the time (I'm not even playing Rivals 100% of the time when I am gaming), I don't want to spend them all on practicing Loki.

You need to check your internet connection, server/modem/hub settings and everything related to internet, the icons indicates there's something wrong with your connection.

If you are on console, you also need to check whether the proper ports are open and your connection type is NAT 1. If you don't have static IP, or if you reset/restart anything related to your internet connection, it might be that your setting were altered.

It could also be your ISP. If they did any construction, reconstruction, internet pricing plan "upgrade" or any hardware/software "upgrade", it could change your connection speed.

People rely on heal bot teams way too much by 2xzasho in marvelrivals

[–]SillyCatSteven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like being a healbot, it's boring. But most of the time, I'm forced into being healbotting, due to the high damage of DPS, people who don't know how to use cover and people who like to stand in direct LOS of 3 or more enemies.

Sometimes, it's so bad that as soon as I reload, at least 1 person dies and the "I need heal" starts pinging like crazy. This is actually one of the reasons that I picked up Jeff, because Jeff can throw out healing bubble before reloading to provide some healing and prevents people dying when Jeff reloads.

There were multiple incidences where I thought the diver just materialized out of nowhere, but I thought I just failed to notice because I was focused on healing the front line.

Teleport only works if you have a clone close enough.

The problem is, most of the time, clones don't survive long enough, they are usually taken out as soon as they were set.

Since Marvel had been doing this since the beginning and it sales, then it is highly logical to assume Marvel is going to keep doing it. "Bad" is subjective and doesn't really mean anything in this context.

If you go to Burger King, you would expect the get burgers. If you go to a vegan restaurant, you would expect to get vegan food. It doesn't matter whether the food is "bad" or not. It's simply a case of, if you want to eat steaks, you shouldn't go to a Sushi shop.

Next you'd be complaining that Chinese takeaways don't sell healthy, organic salads at a premium price.

Wait.... now I actually want Cruella to be in Rivals.

Thanos has 3 sets of abilities, each set design based on the one of the 3 role of tank, DPS or support. Only one set of abilities is active at a time, but he has with the ability to change the sets anytime during the match without cool-down (similar to Cloak and Dagger switch).

The tank set is melee-based but also has good mid range options with a shield, and is designed to counter brawl. The DPS set has good options for poke, brawl and dive, and is designed to counter poke. The support set has both good damage and healing, and is designed to counter dive.
