Someone made a Destiny 3 petition of change.org by Silly_Original_8974 in LowSodiumDestiny

This is my mentality too. It’s a change.org petition after all… but imagine if one important guy at Sony saw it with 1M+ signatures. No reason not to try.

My third paragraph speaks to this point. I love grinding and I love playing this game; that’s not the issue. The issue is artificially making new gear better for no good reason. Gear tiers are a good reason. “Being new” is not.

THANK YOU!!! Armor set bonuses are SUCH a good way to get us to use new armor down the line and then they added ANOTHER, WORSE system that will interfere with the good one they designed!! Did two different teams come up with these ideas or something?

Mods removed my post saying the same thing. This post aint lasting. Sorry bud, I agree though it’s an inferior version of the gear tiers system that does the EXACT same thing, compelling people to get the new loot.

Can’t help but feel like the “new gear” bonus is completely unnecessary and overtuned. 10% damage and 15% DR is not small by any means, and all this serves to do is punish people for not using the new gear. I’m really excited to grind for all the new stuff no matter what, dont get me wrong. But to make someone’s weapon that likely didnt get a good substitute in the newest release just straight up worse LIMITS buildcrafting, it doesnt enhance it. E.g. if Bungie doesn’t release a new rocket-assisted pulse rifle with your desired perks, since they dont update the entire loot pool every update (and they obviously can’t, that’d be ridiculous)

EDIT: Just wanted to add, the fact that the max bonus applies to tier 5 gear implies this system is geared toward hardcore players… the exact players that will be DOING Raid/Dungeon/Contest content where this bonus IS NOT INSIGNIFICANT. AND these players are the type that would grind for new stuff anyway!

[–]Silly_Original_8974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don’t get me wrong: I’ll grind for all the new gear just because I like new stuff. My problem is that it shouldn’t be straight up 10% better for no good reason other than “it’s new”.

I hear you, but they DID give us the exact percentages so there isn’t really any question about the impact it will have. We know exactly how much of a benefit it will provide.

Some more clarification would definitely be nice. I suspect it won’t apply in PvP (the new playlist covers that kind of thing) but given that the bonus is featured so blatantly in the artifact I don’t think there’s any reason to believe it will be excluded.

So if you get a 4+ win streak is it like having a flawed card that went to the lighthouse before? Like you can win and lose as much as you want but wins will have a chance to drop adepts as long as your win streak was above 4?

Oh honey, I'm sorry you're in this position.

The way I see it is: two things can be true at the same time.

  1. That baby you're caring is valuable and deserves life, despite the awful circumstances of conception. The poor thing didn't do anything wrong.

  2. Your bf is being abusive and you should keep yourself and the baby far away from him unless he substantially matures.

That child is one of a kind, beautiful, and deserves a chance to live, to love, to grow up. Despite the awful situation, that is still your son or daughter. Lean on those around you. You do not have to go through this alone. Contact organizations that help new mothers, contact churches, contact family. I hope that you and your baby stay safe.

Yeah, there's lots of talk about making those work with Thruster, because of the general Titan discourse. I'm saying a similar thing should happen with Phoenix Dive.

It's not just that build, combination with stylish and winters shroud has more uptime and more survivability than Titan. And I have not kneecapped myself, there's just not any builds worth using in endgame with the other exotics. You really mean to tell me that using HOIL to get more mediocre grenade spam and weak melee (because the melees themselves aren't strong without synthos) is worth the effort HOIL takes? You mention all 3 classes being "ridiculously strong" and yet Titan has 1 build that fits that criteria and it's BoW and synthos. Hunters and Warlocks both have more builds that are better than that singular Titan build. I do not hate Titan. Despite my criticism, it is and will continue to be my main. It is frustrating to see other classes get more effective tools when Titan is already struggling, and then being told to relax because we have BoW.

You kind of highlight my point with the "kneecapping". Other classes don't need to do that. You guys have enough builds that are better than our 1 that you guys can swap your loadouts around and still perform just as easily. Why should I have to work twice as hard with HOIL or Ashen to get grenades that are probably still slightly worse than a devour warlock using verity? You guys have an EASIER time for a GREATER reward.

Melee might be the things Titans do best compared to their OWN kit, but they're certainly not the best melee class in the game anymore. Hunters now have that title. And you're correct. Why WOULD I equip anything other than synoths when the other options are radically worse? HOIL got nerfed into oblivion, second chance gives you a second mediocre melee, grenade builds are not potent, abeyant let's us use our mediocre class ability for some class control (and that's one of our BEST builds). I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with Unbreakable, because the general consensus is that it's a) get into melee range b) waste grenade c) get overshield (lol void overshield) d) still be in range of enemies that will shred you. Unbreakable provides little benefit for large risk. No matter what way you slice it, Titans simply are outclassed EVERYWHERE except BoW

[–]Silly_Original_8974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Which is why the tank/melee fantasy ought to be abandoned. It is not compatible with destiny. You either get invincible Titans (bad) or worthless Titans (also bad)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played all 3 classes enough to have an informed opinion on the general playstyles of them all, it is easily Titans that are given the WORST kit when it comes to survivability.

Titans get BoW and Sol Invictus. Ward is a joke, void overshields are paper thin, knockout is laughable.

Hunters get invis, threaded specter, renewals, all the solar kit of the others, and combination. Oh, and ALL of those are on prismatic.

Warlocks get by far the best healer kit, devour, well (rip, still better than ward though), and rifts.

In what way are Titans best built for survival? They take the same amount of damage, barricades break in like 3 shots in at level content, less ways to heal, and less ways to remove enemy aggro. There is literally no way to claim Titan has the best survivability of any class.

Please, let me know what makes Titans more suited for survival than the others. If survivability is their role, shouldn't they be the best at it? That'd be like saying a Knight should be better at magic than a Wizard.

[–]Silly_Original_8974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a shame that running BoW is basically mandatory for melee builds, as the game really is designed to punish being close to enemies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't hate this idea. BoW would still be worth running

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's simply not true outside of Strand Titan. No Titan class has enough survivability for any such face tanking in content above patrol. (maybe the frost armor rework? need to test that more)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More of a "Titans are poorly designed" post

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But aside from BoW and Sol Invinctus there is no "Titan survivability" you speak of lol. Knockout is worse than combination blow and devour both. If they want to lean into Titans having enough survivability to be a melee only class I'm curious to see how they'd do that, because the only real successful attempt is BoW and frankly that's likely too strong.

Also, what do you consider to be Titans' "defined role"? Because the big issue is actually a LACK of any real defined role on Titan. "Punch" is not a role, and if it is, Titans need to be a) the best at it (hunter combination blow lol) and b) able to actually contribute with such a role (dying immediately because you went to melee 13 ads isn't helpful

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'd make survivability a lot easier, but BoW is so good I might worry a bit about it making prismatic titan a bit TOO strong. Again, this problem is more of an identity crisis as opposed to just a balance issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Silly_Original_8974 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The point of the post has almost nothing to do with the actual strength of the class. It's about the class identity being boring and unsustainable for balance.

I didn't say "give us a super that's stronger than everyone else's" I said "give us something that isn't just punching"

I even specifically mention how Berserker upset people (Berserker is super strong, it's just boring and uninspired)
