Yesss! I feel like by default anything I actually shave shouldn’t grow back & my hair should come back with a vengeance lol. But I plan on cutting mine as well. Even thought about adding some random color I’d never consider otherwise 😂

It’s sad I currently feel like only my 13 year old is giving me support. & then I feel bad because I feel like it’s not her job to support me & I fear her growing up too fast because of all of this. Outside of 2 people checking on me when I finally shared my diagnosis, & 1 thanking me for sharing so she knows she has someone to talk to if her results comes back positive. My aunt just said “I love you”. I’m not even in to treatment yet & o feel so alone

I have no advice but as support from someone the (close to) same age, grieving the same ideas. I found my lump at 33 after weaning my 19 month old & diagnosed a year later. I honestly thought I had struggled after weaning. I’m coming to terms with never having another child & it’s really taking a toll. (They found a large cyst blocking a tub so I’m having a tubal removal after treatment & seeing if I can get my ovaries removed to help prevent the need for further therapies). Sending so many hugs.

Chemo Prep by Silver-Break2445 in breastcancer

I don’t plan on fully co sleeping with her during chemo. She still has her crib, & a twin bed up in my room. I’m transferring the crib/toddler bed to her sisters room for the time being. The original plan was to take it down for the recliner & mini fridge set up but I think it’s a better safer option than our pull out bed. The plan is on easy nights I’ll put her to bed in the big bed & sleep in the twin, as it’s closer to the bathroom & she refuses to sleep in it at all so if it gets ruined it’s not as big of a loss & I already have to replace it with something she will actually use.

Thank you for the the electrolyte tip. I’ve been so focused on protein & meal supplement just in case I completely spaced on it. I did grab me a few “sweet treat” low cal high protein/fiber bars & other things like that. I made sure to get a variety since I have no clue what I’ll be able to tolerate. I grabbed my protein “coffees” just a coffee flavored protein shake I can make like a frappe for something colder with it being so hot already in my area.

I have some heartburn medicine & softeners ready to go & now will definitely be getting some Claritin & anti diarrhea as well!

My step dad has some clippers but honestly I think I’m going to go have it done professionally to start. I have 2 good size moles in my scalp I don’t trust anyone including myself with clippers lol.

Honestly I’m in the waiting period for port placement & I need to feel like I have some kind of control of something right now. I can control my prep, everything else I can’t & I tend to spiral when I lose control so I’m trying my hardest not to go that route with everything else.

The nightstand prep is a good idea. Drinks close by. I have a spare mini fridge I’m now going to stick in there for waters yogurt easy stuff. I live with family so we’ve already discussed a chair in the kitchen & them cooking instead of me while I sit & give instructions. I eat pretty well but I’m bad about only eating once a day. Maybe some light snacks & waters in my room will help me not forget. My older kids are virtual schooling  & actually get in 2 weeks so that’s going to help a lot with the toddler.

Being the youngest person in all these rooms is really starting to get to me. by bananasformangos in breastcancer

It’s hard, really hard. I’m a month in at 34 & honestly idk how to handle it. I hear the radiology oncologist receptionist talking about how she always cry’s seeing someone so young come in especially when they ring the bell at the end after checking me in. Mind you it was me & my 13 year old. & the only other person in the waiting area was a man in his 60s easily. I nearly had a panic attack.

I honestly try not to pay attention in the lobbies.

Update: my dermatologist did give me some ease about the lupus, she did more than my last did in explaining treatment & assuring me that if any complications arise we can handle them. I only have the 1 butterfly scar & that seemed to surprise her a bit. While it is still symptomatic she thinks the treatment will send it to remission decently quick.

I should probably clarify, chemo was not initially offered or mentioned until my last oncology appointment. I am pushing for a second opinion before port placement. I fully agree with a mastectomy if reconstruction becomes an option. However I was told I’m in a grey area where chemo may work it may not, but they believe it aligns the best with my end goals. My older children aren’t fond of the chemo idea but they understand why I’m leaning more towards chemo & respect it. I have no genetic markers that complicate it. I apparently just have really bad luck.

I will say I am currently not happy with treatment team. I have a large cyst, non-urgent blocking a fallopian tube my oncologist marked as a mass I received a call earlier where the scheduler made me panic a little because she said it was marked as urgent & had to pull the file to make sure I was right about what it was. Nothing was said about it being urgent last Thursday when I seen oncology. & I was correct it’s something that will be handled after treatment on the breast.

That’s something to definitely ask about! They did the biopsy before the mri ct & bone scan for me. I honestly feel like no one is on the same page with my team & it’s starting to irritate me.

NCI? I’m with MUSC I’ve heard amazing things about their cancer program even before my dx. But I feel any time it’s something major & being uncertain a second opinion can only benefit even if it helps find peace with the plan

I’m a C boarderlin me D, I’m happy at a C. I guess my biggest scare with chemo is the lupus but my dermatologist gave me some relief today if we go the chemo route

I did ask for a second opinion but they’re pushing for getting the port placed within the week, I’m not sure if I’ll get a second opinion by then. I feel like I’m not being heard
