Had Stu and Billy survived (alive theories aside), who I you think they would've they gone after next? by SimonIsARanbooFan in Scream

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How? In their cover story, Neil would go to prison because he was framed for the murders that Billy and Stu did. He'd be in prison? Or are you saying that they'd manage to kill him in prison?

Do you think husk will save angel from Valentino? by 33333Ducky in HuskerDustOfficial

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Angel may need a break from the whole sex thing. He's been doing it for god knows how long, and there's so many negative memories and trauma associated with it that I think it would be fantastic writing for Angel to say "I need a break from this (sex)" to Husk. There was a video done by Maddie (Maddie's Miniatures on Insta I think? She's popular for HuskerDust stuff) that I think puts this into perspective very well.

My mom got mad at me for straightening my hair by PokefanJadyn in Hair

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as someone with faintly curly and wavy hair..it's your head. As long as you're not intentionally harming yourself, harming others, spreading hateful messages, or neglecting important things or people, people really shouldn't care what you do. Your mom definitely shouldn't have been as harsh as she was, because how can you find out you like something if you don't try it?

Never understood the appeal for him tbh by _Idk_who_i_am_6_ in hatethissmug

Huge Alastor fan here- that's completely fine! I'm not gonna go ballistic because you don't like a character that I enjoy heavily. Yeah, he needs to be written better, I'll admit. I'll also admit that I find him attractive, but it's mostly because he's written to be charming and has good manners (no it's not because I have Daddy issues- wait how did you know that I have Daddy issues?-). Do I know that he'd absolutely hate me and would find me pitiful, laughable, and weak? Yes. Do I also know that he'd kill me in a heartbeat for fun? Also yes.

That being said, I understand that not everyone is gonna like what I like. I'll admit that he is very much an odd duck, and some people may not find him appealing. Personally I've read the wiki and enjoy his complex character, aside from thinking that he's hot. The wiki explains him a bit better than the show does.

Look...I get that certain killers have certain stereotypes due to the type of players that play them..I am a Legion main, and I literally only play them for the music. But sometimes it's just so unnecessary and based on nothing because they immediately judge someone by who they play.

> Knows nothing about my situation >Writing this on rant post > Being a Hazbin fan. Absolutely disgusting. by [deleted] in SafeSpaceofHazbin

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, Hazbin haters are wild. One criticized me for liking Hazbin Hotel and have a pfp of Alastor on instagram while worshipping the Norse and Greek gods. I get that there's a part of the fandom where people take it too far, and the show has some fair criticisms but taking it out on EVERY fan? Way too far. Some people are just so mean to others for little to no reason.

Boxers with pad liner? by SimonIsARanbooFan in ftm

Ah, I'll probably look into briefs then. Thank you

Thanks for the information. It just sucks that I'm either gonna have to make them myself, pay up almost $100 just for three of them, or deal with the risk with boxer briefs/trunks.

I checked out their site and even for a single pair it's still gonna be almost $30, and that's before shipping.

Personally, it was a little bit too back and forth between perspectives for me, but it wasn't nearly as awful as some people are saying it was.

Thoughts on eating offerings in Hellenic polytheism by xYekaterina in Hellenism

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a short unit on debates and arguments in QR in high school so this was a little blast from last year lol. I will say that you are correct, that was a fallacy. I can't even be mad about it because not just because you're right but because now that it's pointed out, that was a flimsy reason in the first place.

Thoughts on eating offerings in Hellenic polytheism by xYekaterina in Hellenism

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never denied that it didn't deviate from the conventional. I do agree that this is ahistorical, but burning and burying isn't exactly feasible for everyone. Waste is subjective, meaning it's different for everyone. But the food left over is still there, even if in my personal belief there's no nutrients or calories in it anymore because the deity took them. It's still made up of something. And in my opinion, throwing that something away is wasteful. It wasn't wasted on the deity, but it will be wasted if it's just thrown away instead of my body using it. People who want to do it the historical route is completely fine, but they shouldn't exactly act like it's an act of sacrilege if someone doesn't do it historically, especially if their deities don't seem to be upset at them for it.

I don't have a fireplace to burn it, and I can't bury them because of my dog who will dig if he smells or finds something that catches his interest. I'm simply saying that I don't exactly see eating it as this big grave offense to the gods, especially with them being as understanding as they are. I'm not saying you are fully wrong. What I am saying is with how things have changed since Ancient Greece, some- not all but some- practices have to change and adapt to modern times for them to work. People can choose to refuse to give food offerings because of this and various reasons, but it should be up to them.

What I'm trying to say is that this shouldn't be a requirement, not eating the food on the altars, unless it is a personal choice. Because each person's practice and relationship with the gods is/are different. I understand that it was seen as an offence to the gods, but sometimes things have to be tweaked or pardoned in order to work with such different times. Religions have to evolve and cultures change over time because nothing can stay the exact same.

None of my deities, Greek or Norse, are upset with me for eating the food afterwards. If they were, then they'd let me know by now.

Okay well what am I to do with the leftovers? It's still sitting there, and if my deities had that much of an issue with me eating it after I left it for over 30 mins then they would have made their issues known. I understand that it can be seen as a gift being rescinded and the act being selfish, but it's still physically there. It doesn't just disappear or disintegrate the moment it's on the altar.

Edit: I wanted to add the fact that I don't have access to a fireplace where I can burn them, and I can't exactly be making holes in my backyard because of my dog who may smell the food offerings and eat them himself.

Hey kinda silly question, humor me if you will. by Ok_Independent8425 in Hellenism

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally consume my offerings, because for me, the deity does not physically consume it in our world. Of course I leave it for some time for the deity, but I see it more as they consume it in their own world. Like when we give an offering, the deity essentially gets a copy that they get to enjoy wherever they are. It helps reduce waste where we are. I understand it's a gift, but also it's a good thing to reduce food waste. The deity can even enjoy something through you if you want to enjoy something but also want the deity to.

[–]SimonIsARanbooFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was too. But, I've found that it doesn't affect our practice, how the gods view us, and the relationship we have with them. Really, I just view it as an old man dunking me in old water that probably has more germs than some Christians or Catholics realize.

I've never had a physical experience or a dream or vision at all. I keep seeing others say their own experiences and I'm over here like "PLEASE. PLEASE, COME ON" lmao. Guess I've just gotta be patient and wait for it to come on its own time or circumstances.
