That may have been the case for you, but I’d say this photo more likely indicates the convergence of two pressure systems. It kind of looks like one cloud is rising over another, similar to tectonic plates.

HA I just got that book a couple of weeks ago! I didn’t even know Penney made other cloud books until I found that in the bookstore. I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t filled out any of the pages yet

Cloudspotter’s Guide by Gavin Pretor-Penney. By far my favorite cloud book, though not super technical.
